Hey y’all! It’s me, Brenda from Meal Planning Magic. You’re receiving this email newsletter because you signed up--maybe a while ago--to receive an extra weekly email where I share a little bit about meal planning, seasonal content I think you might enjoy and a little bit more about me.

Happy New Year everyone! I know today is January 2nd but I wanted to keep with the Midweek Meal Planning Magic schedule of sending this out on on a Wednesday so here you go!

Do you set resolutions for the new year or maybe identify a word-of-the-year to set your intentions for action? Last year, I decided to put those traditional resolutions ideas aside and instead set myself a goal to learn two new skills. They were to learn how to bake and decorate the "fancy" cut out sugar cookies and also learn how to make latte art. I'm on my way with the cookies (check out my Instagram feed to see some!) and am still working on the latte art--I'm close but still need practice! I'll share my new skills to learn for 2019 next week but would love to know what new plans you all have so just reply to this email or join us in the Meal Planning Magic Community Table Facebook group to share yours!

On The Blog - The Only Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe You'll Ever Need

Did you get a new pressure cooker or slow cooker this holiday? Then be sure to check out my recipe for The Only Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe You'll Ever Need.

This soup is SO easy and full of flavor, perfect for any day but especially cold and rainy days like we've been having here off and on in southeast Texas the last couple of weeks. You can make it on the stovetop or in the slow cooker or pressure cooker-- you choose! I hope you love it as much as we do!

Healthy Family Project Podcast

If you haven't already checked out the Healthy Family Project podcast by Produce for Kids, be sure to check out their latest episode New Year's Resolutions for Families. There, host Amanda shares ideas from this year's contributors on great ways to help your family connect and live more healthy this year. My ideas are included too! And if you missed their other episode (I'm the guest in two others) be sure to check out all their episodes here or subscribing!

Meal Planning Tips & Tricks

Are you ready to make 2019 the year you get back on track (or maybe start!) with meal planning? I'll admit, I've been a bit hit or miss myself the last month so I'm for sure ready. I've gathered up several of my favorite meal planning related posts on this pageon my blog to help you get going. I've got basic how-to get started posts, ideas for mixing up your menu, making a meal planning board and more. Click here to get started reading!

What I'm Reading - The Minimalist Home

Last year I started the Uncluttered Course led by Joshua Becker. While my home is generally presentable most days, my cabinets and closets needed work! I can't say enough great things about this course. At first I was like, why do I need to pay someone to help me declutter? But the guidance and support has been amazing. When you join, you'll have access to a private Facebook group which is one of the most supportive I've ever been a part of online. Surprisingly, my meal planning and grocery purchasing habits have been even more refined also as a result of the course. Once you join, you have lifetime access to repeat the course as many times as you would like!

Joshua Becker wrote the book, The Minimalist Home, which is essentially the course in book form. And just to be clear, his approach minimalism is not about living without but instead it is living with the the things you really use and love and removing the things the distract you from that. I am reading it now and find it a perfect companion to the course. Registration is open now through January 13th and the course officially starts on January 15th. Use the code FF25 to save 25% off registration. Click here for more info.

I receive no monetary compensation should you decide to join in, I'm just a big fan and wanted to share!

What are you reading these days? I'm always looking for suggestions so send me a quick email to let me know!
