Dear Friends, Supporters, Collectors new and old:

The week of shortest days of the year is here and the push for LIGHT is on. Just the thought of what I have encountered in 2015 makes my body glow and emanate light: solo exhibitions from Venice to Brooklyn, performances from Sydney to Manhattan, warm embraces from Tallinn to Istanbul, Storms and Silences , birth of Studio Peerna in Yonkers, and much more. And, yes, there are also the moments of doubt, the seeming endlessness of pursuits needed to keep the art practice going, the inconvenient truth revealed about a gallerist, the sorrow that seeps in when you stop to reflect on the melting glaciers..

All together it makes 365 days of life. Life worth living.

So I thank you for all you have shared with me this year, weather a studio visit, a link to an inspiring article, a good question, quiet walk, collaboration, purchase of an artwork or your eyes reading my newsletter.. I look forward to connecting in ways new and old in 2016!

Let there be LIGHT,

Sincerely,
Jaanika

PS: For Estonian language readers: Eesti keeles lugejad - ma pole eesti keeles oma uudiskirja eluaja jooksul veel tagasisidet saanud - kas on lihtsalt tegemist tagasihoidlike inimestega või pole eesti keeles lugejaid?? Palun andke teada, siis tean kas lisan uuel aastal taas eesti keelse sissejuhatuse nagu varasemalt. Ilusat Jõulu!

Take a closer look HERE and if inclined order your very own copy to meditate on beauty and time during the remaining days of the year.

PEEKSKILL PERFORMANCE

Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art in Peekskill NY will host a Live Art Fest on January 31, 2016. The museum will be hopping with various performances and activities that day from 1-5 PM. I will be doing a solo 1h performance on the longest paper I have tackled yet. Hope some of you will come hold the space for me that day!
