Maundy Thursday Communion & Tenebrae Service Tonight, April 1, 2021 from 7-8pm What is "Maundy" Thursday? On its own, the word maundy means “the ceremony of washing the feet of the poor, especially commemorating Jesus’ washing of His disciples’ feet.” Recorded around 1250-1300, the word maundy comes from the Old French mande, in turn from the Latin mandātum, which means “mandate or command.” The specific mandate or command at hand refers to the words Jesus spoke after washing the feet of his disciples during the Last Supper. In John 13:34, Jesus said: “A new commandment I give you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” Join us for this moving service as we observe Communion and experience the ever-growing darkness of this time of candlelight Worship. Due to the format of this service, we will not be recording & streaming. | Sunday's Service - April 4, 2021 Please join us for a joyous celebration of Easter, online & in-person! | The featured Scripture is: Ephesians 2:1-7 for Mike's message: Come Alive. "We just celebrated Palm Sunday – a wonderful time of praise. As we enter Easter week, I am reminded of how many changes Jesus experienced as well as those around Him that loved Him so much!" "That leads us right into the Word for this week. “PATH.” When Jesus was on the earth, He walked many different “paths.” I believe that was to experience all the different “paths” we would find ourselves on in our lifetime. Every “path” we have ever been on, Jesus has already walked. He knows exactly how we are feeling on our “path” at any given time. He was praised on His “path” coming into Jerusalem, yet the very same week He was crucified for you and me. No greater price than to lay down your life. Thank you, Jesus! Our “path” may look dark and dreary, and Jesus is there. Our “path” may be sunny and full of life, and Jesus is there. Our “path” may seem uncertain, and Jesus is there. Our “path” may be wonderful, and Jesus is there. Wherever we are in our “path” Jesus is there with us! Every step, every tear, every laugh, every day – Jesus is there. Jesus walked the ultimate “path” so we can walk our “path” into eternal life with Him. Be comforted and blessed today knowing this! Have a Blessed Easter week!"
