Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love the smells, wearing hoodies, picking pumpkins, decorating and all the baking! Our family goes on many day trips – to places like the pumpkin patch, the apple orchard, corn maze and the fair. I feel the season is too short- I never seem to get everything in! Out of all the things we do, our annual Pumpkin Patch/Corn Maze day is our family’s favorite.

Fall happens to be one of my favorite times of the year. As I watch the leaves changing I am reminded of changes that I am earnestly seeking within myself and for those around me. It is also a time that my family and I start winding down as everyone else seems to be gearing up for the upcoming holidays.

There is something so magical about watching the leaves change color and drift to the ground – it simply mesmerizes my boys. The leaves seem to provide a new zest for being outside and exploring – then again it doesn’t take much to get these two into the mood to be outside. But Autumn has a new energy and smell that also pulls me out longer than I expect. As a result we often find ourselves in the near by hiking routes blazing trails and finding treasures.
