RIPTA will detour Routes 6, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 27, 28, 31, 54, 66, 92 and the R-Line in Providence from 3pm – 5pm to accommodate the Sant Nirankari Mission Procession. Details here.

AS220’S ANNUAL FOO FEST - SATURDAY, AUGUST 9

RIPTA will detour Routes 20 (Elmwood Ave.), 22 (Pontiac Ave.) and the R-Line (Broad/North Main) all day and night to accommodate AS220’s Annual Foo Fest. Empire Street will be closed during this time. Details here.

DOMINICAN PARADE – SUNDAY, AUGUST 10

RIPTA will detour Route 6 (Prairie/R.W. Zoo) and the R-Line (Broad/North Main) from 9:30am until 1:00pm. Details here.

RIPTA CELEBRATES VJ DAY - MONDAY, AUGUST 11

RIPTA will operate all regular fixed-route buses and trolleys on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Monday, August 11, 2014 in observance of VJ Day. RIPTA offices, including the Photo Identification and Ticket Sellers Offices in Kennedy Plaza, will not be staffed on the holiday. Click here for details.

FESTIVAL FETE - SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 28

RIPTA will detour Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit) to accommodate Festival Fete on Thayer Street. The detour will be in effect all day and night. Thayer Street will be closed to vehicular traffic on Sunday, September 28 for this event. Details here.

KENNEDY PLAZA UPDATE

BUS STOP REASSIGNMENTS EFFECTIVE MONDAY, AUGUST 4

RIPTA will reassign temporary Bus Stops A and D on Monday, August 4, 2014. Beginning Monday, Park N’ Ride service will be relocated from temporary Bus Stop A to temporary Bus Stop D. Routes 17, 18, and 19 will be relocated from temporary Bus Stop D to temporary Bus Stop A.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE – AUGUST 5, 2014

In accordance with RI State Law, RIPTA will hold a public hearing to address the proposed elimination of Route 49 (Camp Street/Miriam Hospital). Hearings will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the University of Rhode Island Feinstein Providence Campus Auditorium, 80 Washington Street Providence, RI. Hearings will be held from 10am to 12pm and again from 6pm to 8pm. A 72 hour notice is required for persons with sensory impairment requiring auxiliary aids.
