Hello Parents and Students!

Happy Fall! We closed out October with a service project in Oaklawn. Thank you to all who attended! We were able to help out Lighthouse Community Church as well as get to know students in their youth group.

We also launched our new TEXTING LINE! Please let us know if you have not been getting texts from 97000 these past couple of weeks.

This week we are looking forward to our next big event! Our annual Late Nighter is Friday November 3rd from 6-11pm. EVERYONE MUST REGISTER ONLINE! This event will be a blast for students and a great event to invite friends to. There will be nerf wars, sardines and much more! We are asking for girls to bring a sweet snack and guys bring salty. You must register online to attend. See details below. As always, let me know if you have questions!

Friday, November 3 | 6:00 - 11:00 p.m. | At First MB Church | Free*

This is one crazy night of games, ice cream, and more! You get all the fun activities from a lock-in but still get sleep! And don't forget to bring your friends!

Cost is free but we ask:
Female Students: a sweet treat (cookies, brownies, etc.)
Male Students: Salty snack (chips, salsa, etc.)

Several Activities That We Will Be Doing:

* Basketball & Volleyball!
* Nerf War!
* Awesome food!
* And More!

Nerf War!
Returning again this year is we will have a fun nerf war during the Late Nighter. Yes, please bring your nerf guns (regular size darts will be provided for all guns). If you don't have guns that's okay we provide extra guns and eye protection!

NO airsoft or giant dart sized guns will be allowed. All custom nerf guns will need to be approved before use.

Grades 6 - 8 | At First MB Church | Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Junior High small groups are the heart of our ministry. Our groups split up by gender and grade, and then we end the night with games... and not every night we end with dodgeball. Each student stays in their small groups for all three years of Junior High.

Want to join a small group? Awesome! Let us know, or just show up on Wednesdays!

JUNIOR HIGH ROOM!

Sunday @ 11:00 is the "front door" of our Senior and Junior High ministry. It's our large group gathering or "Church of Teenagers." It has elements of games, video, drama, and Biblical teaching that is culturally relevant to teenagers. They are regularly invited to interact of have table discussions with what is being shared from the leader. It is the perfect opportunity to come and "check things out" for our student ministry.

Sunday, November 12th | 9:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. | In the lower lobby

Feel free to make any bake goods and bring them to the church by 9:15 a.m (most items are sold after the first service between 9:30-9:45am). Please label each item including the title of the item, who made it, suggested price, and any ingredients (for allergies). You will receive 100% of the profits credited to your Fundraising Account. And you will not be getting any dishes returned so please be aware of that. You can make pretty much anything like cookies, cakes, brownies, and even crackers. But more unique items sell well too such as jams, sweet bread, and even pies.

What is This Fundraiser?
The Dillon's Plus Card fundraiser is the easiest possible fundraiser for the student ministry. We raised over $7,500 in 2016 just by people enrolling online and using their Dillon's Plus Card. The more people we enroll under "First MB Church" the bigger the piece of pie we get from Dillon's ($500,000 a quarter). So make sure you enroll your grandparents, friends, and anyone else! Junior High Ministry has our own Facebook group. We use this mainly to update parents on last minutes changes or getting feedback. Click the logo to request to join this close (non-public) group.

We will be ending each SCOOP with a Power Parent Tip. Feel free to email Pastor Kyle if you are looking for a tip on a certain subject!
