This past weekend, Andrew Scheer was elected the new leader of the Conservative Party of Canada. This is incredible news.
Thank You
Thank you to everyone who took out a CPC membership in order to be able to vote in this critical election and who prayed throughout the campaign and voting.
The Christian So-Con Vote Determined The Outcome
Out of 145,000 votes, 1400 votes made the difference. This means that it WAS the Christian socially conservative vote that determined this election.
That is huge.
It confirms the power that is in our hands when we get in the game to impact this sphere of our nation.
2 Major Wins
There were 2 major wins in this election.
WIN #1 - Pierre Lemieux and Brad Trost, both of whom campaigned on strong socially conservative platforms, did VERY WELL. This sends a massive message to the CPC and to the nation that there are millions of Canadians who prioritize these values.
In statement today, Pierre Lemieux said it this way:
"I entered this race because I believe that millions and millions of Canadians share our view that social conservative values, faith-based values, freedom of speech and respecting the dignity of human life from the moment of conception through to natural death are critically important. These values are a strength of our country and a strength of our Conservative Party of Canada.
And you proved me right!
Saturday night, as the confetti fell and an incredibly exciting evening came to a close, the main media story was that "Social Conservatives can no longer be ignored”!
WIN #2 - Andrew Scheer.
From the beginning we felt Andrew would be a wonderful leader for our nation. He is a true conservative. Fiscally he is very conservative as well as socially. Andrew has a strong pro-life track record both personally and publicly and we believe will create an atmosphere where his caucus can bring forward important bills that reflect their conscience on moral issues.
This is a win for democracy in Canada and for life.
