Last Landscaping Day of the School Year! Saturday, May 15 1-4PM

Last Work Day

Come join us for the last landscaping work day of the year! We'll be doing some cleanup to get parts of the campus ready for the summer. Activities will include clearing some rocks, weeding some beds, trimming some plants, and possibly touching up some paint.

Come for any amount of time--early, late, some time in the middle--it's all good! Bring some work gloves and we'll have other equipment you may need. Hope to see you there!

Lacrosse Saturdays this Summer

Hello Mills Elementary Parents!

My name is Pete Mittelholzer and I coach the Bowie Bulldogs Junior Lacrosse Team for 1st and 2nd graders along with Randall Owen. We both have sons on the team who will be in 2nd grade next year. Randall and I both played lacrosse in college and would like to help grow the game in South Austin.

Coach Randall and I want to invite all of the boys and any additional friends to join us for free lacrosse throw-arounds on Saturday mornings this summer at 9-10am at Metro Park in Circle C.

When: Saturday mornings throughout the summer from 9-10am

Where: Metro Park in Circle C, most likely in the far west field next to the large new playground. What: Informal lacrosse practice/ throw-arounds where we'll work on passing and catching and shooting with fun drills. If there are enough kids maybe we can do some scrimmaging.

Who: We'd like to see kids entering Kindergarten through 3rd Grade. Not to exclude any interested 4th graders, of course. But we're focused mostly on the younger kids.

Why: The kids enjoy playing together and also any time spent with a stick in their hands now will pay big dividends in the years to come if they stick with lacrosse.

Hesitation? "My son doesn't even know what lacrosse is!" Not to worry! Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades are a great time for kids to pick up a stick.

Equipment: For kids who have it, maybe we'll practice with helmets and gloves only. We can procure some loaner sticks for any kids who don't have one yet.

Recruit! We need more boys for the 1st-2nd Grade Team as well as the 3rd-4th Grade Team next Spring. The more the merrier! Please share this email.

Sign-up: Let us know who you are and that you're interested in learning more here:
