Work Days With GG
This Tuesday, July 13, 9am-12pm
We have two work days set with Goodness Grows this summer. In past years we have worked on many projects...painting gourd birdhouses, repairing the butterfly garden sign, reshaping the butterfly garden and adding a pathway, harvesting produce, weeding, and more. This summer we will be helping to make some of the paths in the woods better for hikes and nature walks. Youth need to bring boots, water, and a lunch. Dress for working in the woods!

Prayer

For whom are you praying today?
How can we pray for you?

We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"I pray you all had a blessed and safe July 4th weekend. I am so thankful God gave us everlasting freedom in Him. Also, I'm thankful for those that gave their lives so we can be free along with all those currently serving or who have served. We are so blessed here in the USA. God Bless America and forgive us our trespasses."

The Word God gave for us this week is “TRANSPORT.” “Transport” is a way to move us, products, or even our mindset from one place to another. I dispatch trucks every day and, for them to get the product from one place to another, I need to let them know where they are picking up and delivering. They need complete instructions to “transport” safely and accurately. When we ride or drive a car, we need to follow signs and signals to ensure our safe “transport." We may even hear a song or phrase and that will “transport” our minds to another place and time, whether it be happy or sad. Sometimes someone will say something, and I immediately think of a song with that word in the lyrics to “transport” my thoughts somewhere else. My prayer this week is that the Holy Spirit will “transport” us to get saturated in His presence. “Transport” our thinking Lord, to your will and your way. Get us out of the way so it is a sweet “transport” of love and peace that we will experience that only comes from the Father. “Transport” us Lord I pray, to a place that we can be a witness and testimony of your great Love! Have a super blessed week in your “transport” with the Holy Spirit!"

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
~ Philippians 4:8-9 (NKJV)

News of the Week

GG was closed on Monday, which always makes the week feel a bit weird. We were happy to get back together a day late and dive right into our work!

We had plenty of weeding and watering to do on Tuesday, after having three days off. While taking care of the plants, we did inventory to plan this week's CSA. It is so exciting to see what is ready for harvest each week! We also had to do some hose repair and we made time for a walk in the woods, where it feels somewhat cooler than out in the gardens. On Wednesday, we planted habaneros and radishes and, of course, we weeded! Today, everyone is out in the gardens, harvesting for CSA and hoping to beat the rain. This week's share includes farm fresh eggs from Mike Ashby's mom, Rachel. We love to be able to include goodies from other people and places! These eggs are gorgeous.

Saturday is the Youngstown Flea. Take a trip downtown and check it out. Kitty will be there with plenty of fresh jam to spice up (or sweeten) your summer! If you need more info about the Flea, click the photo to follow the link to their page.

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
