FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On January 26th, 2022, MPVR PAC launched a petition campaign to give a voice to Mississippians who desire the free exercise of religion in vaccine decision-making for children. Our families have been working to get the ear of the legislature on this issue for almost a decade to no avail. Many Mississippi families have suffered great hardship under the current draconian vaccine laws and have been forced to leave their careers to homeschool or leave the state.
In five days, we amassed over 12,000 unique signatures and they are still coming in. The names of each person who signed, along with their county of residence, were emailed to both Hosemann and Bryan. Mississippi families are urging them to stop standing between us and our ability to follow our prayerful, deeply held convictions regarding vaccines for our children. Our Mississippi families fully deserve leaders who will fight for our inalienable religious right of conscience.
Christians have a God-given right to prayerfully make medical decisions for themselves and their families. It's offensive that Lt. Governor Hosemann inserts himself between Christians and their prayerful obedience to God's lead. What we allow to be injected into our and our children's bodies is none of his business.
The people urge Lt. Governor Hosemann and Chairman Bryan to respect our 1st Amendment Rights, as supported by our 2014 RFRA, and pass SB2107 for a K-12 religious exemption Tuesday, February 1.
Petitions will be delivered to Lt. Governor, Delbert Hosemann, and to Chairman of Public Health, Hob Bryan, on Tuesday.
