We love photos of all the special times that happen at church ~ and VBS is very special!! | VBS Mission Project VBS is about growing in faith, learning more about God, and also about being His hands and feet. We do this by choosing a "Mission Project" each year to help a specific project or organization. This year at Monumental VBS, participants were asked to bring monetary donations of any amount for a nightly offering for the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley. We know that every penny helps and will be put to good use by the faith-filled folks who run this important, local organization that helps so many people. The Mission “exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ as we promote accountability and provide food and emergency shelter to men, women and children experiencing hunger and homelessness.” Up to 188 people find shelter at the Rescue Mission nightly and, last year, nearly 37,000 meals were shared! What a God Sighting our valley’s Mission is every day! Read more about this wonderful mission here: Rescue Mission. | Prayer For whom are you praying today? How can we pray for you? We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week! | Encouragement Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement. "I pray you are all doing great this week. Summer is in full swing. I hope you all are doing some fun things. Everyone seems to be happier when the sun is shining. Maybe that is an optical illusion of some sort. Anyway – don’t miss out on the great weather we are having. Enjoying our summer with some much-needed rain mixed in. The garden and flowers were smiling! The sun and the rain work together to make the garden and the flowers thrive. That leads me into this week’s WORD." "What kind of an “INFLUENCE” are we having on others? I found one of my dad’s Bibles this weekend and in the front cover was precious words written by one of his lifetime friends. That made me start to think of my lifetime friends. If we have lifetime friends, we have everything. It is said Jesus sticks closer than a brother. I have to say that is also true with some of my lifetime friends as well. When God blesses us in such a way, we need to be a great “influence” on others as well. We need to “influence” them in a way that it shines their best light. Everyday, wherever we are, we can be a light and a blessing. Let’s not miss that opportunity to “influence” everyone we meet. Also, let’s make sure we thank those that have made a great “influence” in our lives. “Good people see the good and bring out the best in other people. – Roy T. Bennett” As this week’s scripture says, as iron sharpens iron, so a man (woman) sharpens the countenance of their friend. Wow! Thank you, Holy Spirit, that this week you are going to lead and guide us to others we can “influence” in their best light! Have a fantastic week of loving “influence” to others." As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. ~ Proverbs 27:17 (NKJV) | July Worship ~ Online & In-Person Pastor Mike Hileman ~ Sundays at 11:00am.
