Happy Canada Day Long Weekend!

We're finally in the heat of summer, and what better way to celebrate with comedy, live music, and a bunch of LONG WEEKEND PARTIES. We're kicking things off early tonight with the launch of a new roots music monthly featuring some of the city's most talented performers. On Friday, we're keepin' it Canada with a two-floor dance party. Then, on Saturday night, we're getting really different...for one night only, we're swapping club nights with our other favourite Mt. Pleasant bar, The Cobalt for a special edition of LOVE featuring the Glory Days DJs. The best part is, because it's a long weekend, all of our parties are 100% free to get into with RSVP, just check the below for instructions!

The Holy Roller Revue is a new monthly musical showcase featuring new and established country, roots, folk and gospel artists. Featuring: The Wayward Hearts, Mac Pontiac, The Sojourners, Christie Rose, Just a Season, and a special guest DJ set by Rob Frith (Neptoon Records). Sponsored by Basone Guitar Shop. Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the St. James Music Academy.

The Fox Cabaret presents the first annual Canada Day Block Party. A holiday house party featuring two floors of DJs, the best party music (90s ’til now hip hop, r&b, pop) and more. Featuring international party sounds from Bazz Mathe (Common People DJ Collective) and Christa Belle (The Y2K Party). Canadian Tuxedos are encouraged.

Every week, come laugh with the funniest kids in town, the Sunday Service. For comedy lovers in Vancouver, The Sunday Service is a weekly ritual. The award-winning troupe — consisting of Taz VanRassel, Ryan Beil, Emmett Hall, Aaron Read, and Caitlin Howden—has been a staple of Vancouver’s thriving comedy scene for nearly a decade. Devotees of the Sunday Service have come to love their sidesplitting performances each week making it Vancouver’s longest-running independent improv comedy show. Every Sunday is a packed house we encourage people to come early to grab a seat!

Since the release of their debut EP in 2014, Yumi Zouma’s evolution has been brisk and organic ‐ a shoreline reflecting the changing tides of its ocean. The band sold‐out their first EP twice‐over before itsrelease and before having ever played live, but each member’s disparate living arrangements meant that live shows or even further releases were unexpected. Having grown up together in Christchurch, New Zealand, they scattered after school, moving to Auckland, Paris and New York, collaborating over email to create Yumi Zouma’s initial material. However, the intense reception to these early tracks resulted in the group’s first practices taking place on arena stages, asthey were asked on tour by both Chet Faker and Lorde.
