Dear Friends,
The Jewish New Year, 5775, is a numeric palindrome – a sequence that reads the same backward and forward. This special phenomenon will not occur again for another 110 years. Thanks to our WIZO Mexico Chavera, Dalia Shwartz for sharing this thought with us.
The high holidays are an opportunity for us to engage in self reflection and introspection, to look backwards only for the purpose of going forwards; to assess ourselves inside and out and make changes will lead to a more meaningful life.
On the eve of Yom Kippur I would like to share with you this chilling rendition of IDF Chief Chazzan Shai Abramson singing Unesaneh Tokef one of the most powerful prayers Jews say on the holiest day of the year. Click to view clip...
In conjunction with the International Shabbos Project, WIZO members worldwide will be #SPREADINGLIGHT by lighting the Shabbat candles on Friday eve, 24th October. Help us spread the word by sending us photos by Tuesday, 7th October with the hashtag #SPREADINGLIGHT to Tene Abraham - tenekimor@wizo.org or send through WhatsApp to 972-58-580059 (add a short caption and the name of the Federation).
May you be inscribed in the book of life.
