The Gospel for this Sunday is

Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23; Click Here to Read.

Harvest

God’s word is like the rain that waters the earth and brings forth vegetation. It is also like the sower who scatters seed indiscriminately. Our lives are like seeds sown in the earth. Even from what appears to be little, dormant, or dead, God promises a harvest. At the Lord’s table we are fed with the bread of life, that we may bear fruit in the world.

All Sundays in July

LELC is responsible for delivering meals all of the Sundays in July. We need 2 people to deliver each Sunday. One person drives and the other is the navigator. Meals are picked up at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church 5101 Schofield Street, Monona at 11:30AM. Enter the parking lot between the church and the school. The Market Street Diner van will be parked in a small lot to the right by the school. There is a shed next to the school in that same parking lot. Please put empty carriers in the shed. If you are running late, your meals will be in the shed. We are assigned route # 5. Please DO NOT take a different route. You will be given 2 delivery carriers. One for the hot food items and one for the cold food items. Each meal is labeled with the client’s first initial, last name and address. Do a quick count to be sure you have the same number of meals as is indicated on the upper right corner of your route sheet. For more information, call Lil Genskow at 224-0465, or Chris Maloney Dull at 358-5240. Thank you!

Gifts Committee: Matching Gifts Needed

gift hands

At the recent congregational meeting, two special initiatives were approved to be funded through the gifts committee:
1) part time youth pastor for the next year
2) repair of the front rock wall and improving drainage near the front door to prevent water from reaching our elevator shaft and basement hallway.

The Gifts Committee will match donations to these projects. Please check the bulletin and June Dialogue for details about how you can contribute to these important initiatives.

As always, thank you for your support of these types of special initiatives through the gifts committee. Jim St. Vincent, Chairperson, Gifts Committee
