| Announcing Scout 2019 Official Selections and Category Nominees | Dear Scout Community, In this, our 3rd year, we received 2,164 submissions from 105 countries! This record number of submissions granted us the unique opportunity to consider work that spans a wide spectrum from around the globe. Our heroic screening committee had their work cut out for them, difficult choices were made, narrowing our catalog down to 187 official selections screening January 4-6, 2019 in Stowe, VT, USA. Just under half of our selected films were written or directed by a Female Filmmaker. We purposely narrowed our list blind to certain information, as an experiment, so this distinction reflects genuine merit as well as the happy indication more female filmmakers are out there, being supported and submitting work! Congratulations to all the filmmakers included here, and to ALL who submitted, THANK YOU, we look forward to viewing your future work. Films are listed by category and then alphabetically. Nominees in all categories are bold, Female Filmmakers indicated in BLUE . You will see only the films nominated for Best Female Filmmaker under that heading. Important reminder to filmmakers, the deadline to apply for the Scout Film Festival Emerging Storytellers Grant is October 26. Links to submit and more information on the program can be found at the end of this correspondence. We have a big announcement coming soon so stay tuned for that as well as travel and ticket information!
