Surprise Thursday newsletter! There are many parts of your natal chart that can contain "difficult" energy - not that you're doomed, but we all can't have perfect charts with zero challenges, now can we? (how boring that would be, anyway!) Astrology can help you pinpoint the trouble spots and figure out how to handle them. I've compiled a list of articles I've written about various difficulties in the natal chart that you can tackle:

Retrograde Planets in the Natal Chart
If you have any planets in your natal chart that are retrograde, that planet’s energy is expressed differently for you. READ >>>

Personal Planets at Critical Degrees
In astrology, there are specific degrees called critical degrees. These degrees are called critical because their energy is just that, critical. When you have a planet in your chart at a critical degree, that planet has extra importance, and requires more work and attention on your part. READ >>>

29 Degrees: The Anaretic Degree
29 degrees of any sign is called the Anaretic degree. It’s the very last degree of the sign before it moves into the next sign. When you’re born with a planet or point at 29 degrees, that puts extra emphasis on that planet or point. READ >>>

The 164 Degree Aspect
There are many minor aspects in astrology, and two of them are the quinqueundecim (163 degrees) and the quindecile (165 degrees). The orb of influence for these minor aspects is under two degrees, usually about one degree, so if you have two points 164 degrees apart, they are BOTH quinqueundecim and quindecile. READ >>>

Interceptions
When it comes to interceptions, it’s helpful to think of the word contained. The sign or house that is intercepted is contained in the house or sign it’s intercepted, gobbled up by whatever that sign or house rules. READ >>>

The Misunderstood 12th House + The Dark 8th House
The 12th and 8th houses aren't terrible on their own, but can present some challenges depending on what you've got going on. Links: Part 1 of the 12th house, Part 2 of the 12th house, and the 8th house article

T-Squares and Grand Crosses
I talk a lot about t-squares these days! A T-Square (or T-Cross) involves three planets. Two planets are opposite one another, and both are square the third planet. A Grand Cross (or Grand Square) is like a T-Square, but it doesn’t have the empty leg. READ >>>

Yods and Boomerangs
A yod is when you have two planets in a chart that sextile each other (60 degrees apart), and those two planets also quincunx a third planet (150 degrees apart). A boomerang is an extension of a yod. In this aspect pattern, a yod is formed, but there’s a fourth planet involved that opposes (180 degrees apart) the apex planet. READ >>>

Singletons
I didn't write these because Astrology Club has the best writeups for the planets as singletons. A singleton planet is one that is the only planet in an element, quality, or house type. Check out yours (they're listed on the right). READ >>>
