There’s nothing like Fall in New England. Whether we’re here full time, or only part time, we’re fortunate to be part of a region with a sense of place and history. Fall is a time for both reflection and anticipation. It’s a time to think of what we’ve accomplished and what we’re excited to tackle in the year ahead. You can be proud of what PCW accomplished in 2015 and look forward to the work we’ll take on next year.
In this newsletter, we'll recap our Annual Meeting which, for the first time, was about engaging you, our members, in the work of improving health in our region. From healthy aging, to children and families, we are excited to be a part of the change that is taking place in our communities. We’ll share our appreciation for Executive Committee members whose terms have ended, and we’ll introduce you to our new leadership team.
We are so pleased to welcome Dr. Bill Boyle as the new Chair of PCW. Many of you know Bill through his work as a Dartmouth-Hitchcock Pediatrician, his work with the town of Hanover, or his establishment of the Boyle Community Pediatrics Program. Toni LaMonica will serve alongside Bill as Vice Chair of PCW. Toni has a Masters in Social Work and was the Program Manager of the Boyle Community Pediatrics Program.
We hope you’re inspired by this month’s PCW Newsletter and will want to know more. Join our call to action to make PCW’s Mission “to inspire and advance healthier communities across NH and VT through education, advocacy, and philanthropy” a reality.
With gratitude,
Karen

Giving Tuesday" will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 1st. "Giving Tuesday" is a day to remind us to support the things we care about the most. We hope you’ll join us in making a gift to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Annual Fund that day.
Many of us will have spent Thanksgiving with friends and family reflecting on what we’re thankful for. It's the perfect time to remember what’s most important to us. As PCW members, we’re grateful to be a part of Dartmouth-Hitchcock's efforts to make positive changes to health and healthcare for our communities, our region, and our nation. We all have our own personal reasons to support Dartmouth-Hitchcock. It's a special connection for each and every one of us. The leadership of Dartmouth-Hitchcock has put their trust in all of us. They truly value our involvement and respect our input. They have asked us to be the voices of our communities and to be advocates in support of their efforts to create sustainable health system to improve the lives of the people and communities we serve for generations to come. We can support those efforts through action and through generosity.
Between visiting with friends and relatives, shopping, and getting ready for the upcoming holidays, please take a few minutes to really think about why Dartmouth-Hitchcock is important to you. Engelberth Construction LCRCC was awarded the 2015 Business of the Year Award by the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce. Engelberth Construction was founded by PCW Member Otto Engelberth.
The award winners are chosen by the Chamber staff. Nominees are evaluated and selected based on how their companies support, promote, and embody the Chamber’s vision and mission statements: “To be the most respected voice for business in Vermont” and “To advocate for a thriving private sector economy and to assist our members and our community in strengthening their collective prosperity”, respectively. Consideration is given to such factors as company origins, growth and stability, participation in Chamber initiatives, involvement with both the business and social communities, creation of opportunities for employees, business reputation, amongst others.
