We ended last week with Crestview High School students helping us cut and prep a load of peppers for the freezer. Those will be used this fall and winter to make Jungle Jams of many flavors. The students also helped unload a big donation into the warehouse. In the afternoon, the GG crew enjoyed a walk over to Mrs. Sloan's house to pick up some donations there, too. Visiting Mrs. Sloan always brightens our week! Then on Saturday, Dustin, Jill, & Kitty enjoyed getting out into the community to talk about GG at Firestone Farms.

This week has been jam-packed with all sorts of tasks! On Monday, we released butterflies and got a ton accomplished in the warehouse with Leetonia HS. Tuesday was field trip day to ill will, where we learned much more history, science, and math than expected...and got to enjoy some friendly canine company. (It was an amazing day!) We also were able to purchase some very cool pumpkins from our friend Tracy at Harbel's Market to decorate the property for the beautiful time of fall harvest. We highly recommend a visit before the end of October! Then, after work, Rachel, Dustin, and Jen headed to Canfield to do a major pick up for the Giveaway from a very kind family. Wednesday was full of unloading the trailer and carrying Giveaway items in to the warehouse as well as making applesauce for the final CSA. Jen also had another interview to talk about GG and our important fall fundraiser, this time at Youngstown Studio for their Behind the Scenes program.

Today is the final CSA day of 2024. We cannot believe how fast this season went! We will all miss the fun of harvesting, packing, and seeing our CSA family. Watch for news of the 2024 CSA subscription program, coming in time for Christmas shopping!

The time to drop off is now!

*PAUSING GIVEAWAY ITEM DONATIONS!
The last day to drop off all those much appreciated coats/clothes/household items and all the bags riding around in your car is October 1, 2023. Due to the generosity of family and community, we have a large amount of items. In order to be sure we can get everything organized, set up by October 21, and fit it all in the warehouse, we are asking you to do a final sweep, spread the word, and get all clean, useful donation items here on or before 10/1/23.

Remember, if you need help unloading, Goodness Grows folks are usually available weekdays from 9:15am-1:45pm. We'd also appreciate any shopping bags and (especially) boxes that you've saved.

Can't make it on the final scheduled Volunteer Day? Want to volunteer more in the warehouse? Those are both excellent reasons tp talk to Rachel Vignon or Jen Lynch

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
