Hey y’all! It’s me, Brenda from Meal Planning Magic. You’re receiving this email newsletter because you signed up--maybe a while ago--to receive an extra weekly email where I share a little bit about meal planning, seasonal content I think you might enjoy and a little bit more about me.

My kids are back at school this week and while we all enjoyed the holiday break, we are also all ready to get back to a bit of routine. As I mentioned last week, I'm working through the Uncluttered program and cleaned out my clothes closet and utility room over the weekend as they had gotten a bit out of whack this last month.

I'm also working on lots of organizing related meal planning activities for you all in the coming months too!

Remember I also mentioned my new skills goals for 2019? They include two food related goals: learning how to make and use homemade fondant on cakes and cupcakes and also teaching myself to make homemade pasta and my Grandma's ravioli. I'm excited about both of these!

Did you set any new year's goals for 2019? I'd love to hear about them! Just reply to this email or join us in the Meal Planning Magic Community Table Facebook group to share yours!

On The Blog - Delicious Crockpot Lasagna Soup

Last week we had lots of cold, rainy weather--more than usual for our part of Texas! So I welcomed comforting soup recipes like my Delicious Crockpot Lasagna Soup!

Y'all, this is one of my family's very favorites and it is SO super easy. Best of all, you can make it ahead by using your slowcooker so it's ready to eat when you just want to relax at the end of the day.

Pin it to Pinterest here to remember to make it later!

Make Dinnertime Fun!

Last week I mentioned the Healthy Family Project podcast by Produce for Kids, be sure to check out their latest episode New Year's Resolutions for Families. In that episode she shared one of my healthy resolution ideas for families: eating meals together. You can listen to the episode for more details but my blog post, Six Games & Ideas To Help Make Dinnertime More Fun gives you some other ideas on how to connect even more over a meal! (and it doesn't just have to be dinner!)

What to Read - Six Books to Help You Understand the Food You Eat

A couple of years ago, I rounded up a few favorite books that helped me understand more about the food my family eats and shared them in a blog post. Some are about how to eat more real (i.e. not so processed) food or how to reduce food waste (saving me money too!) and others were about just what is in the food available to us today and how to navigate food choices. The new year is kind of reset for many people and their health so I thought I'd share that postagain with you all. Click here to read more!

What are you reading these days? I'm always looking for suggestions so send me a quick email to let me know!
