Hello !!

My workshop at the Feldenkrais Guild Meeting was a success! Ten people with Parkinson's and six care partners joined several Feldenkrais teachers from around the country to learn about walking. Conscious Walking, that is. Developed by John Pepper, an 82-year-old man from South Africa who has had Parkinson's disease for over 40 years, this approach to walking in a very conscious way has controlled PD motor symptoms and allowed easier movement. If you'd like to know more, check out John's video:

There is more to do to finish up the project but, for now, I am off for a hiking and wildlife vacation on Vancouver Island.

Regular weekly movement lasses resume Sept 12!

My Lesson Picks from the Feldenkrais Conference

The Feldenkrais Institute - Version 2

I always enjoy lying on the floor, (or sitting, or standing) and just doing an ATM lesson since I teach so many of them. That's one of the great things about the Feldenkrais Conference. I will be sharing two lessons I especially liked from this year's meeting:

Tuesdays Sept 12 and 19 -- 12 noon

Friends Meeting House -- 3311 NW Polk

Cost is $8/class; $16 for both, payable at class. Bring a mat or blanket for carpeted floor and please do not park in front of neighborhood houses. Thanks!

NOTE: If you plan to attend, please email me at margbartosek@gmail.com as space is limited. Sept 12 is on the floor and Sept 19 is a mostly standing lesson, sliding hands down the legs. Good for the spine, balance, flexibility!

Weekly Classes Begin Sept 26 - Sr Center & Friends
