Hi there Friend!

Did you see our latest blog post? We've been thinking about our experience with intellectual property theft, and thought we would share a few things that you (fellow teachers & makers) can do to keep tabs on your intellectual property.

Check out the blog for two great tools, Copyscape & Tineye, that you can use to see if your valuable content is being stolen.

Hopefully these two resources will be helpful to you in the fight against intellectual property theft. Have you experienced IP theft? If so, do you have any other tips to help others deal with it? Please share in the comments so we, as a community, can support one another!

Read on for our featured $10 off handout and eClass for April, plus our recent posts on the blog.

Let's keep learning together,

April's Featured Class Handout

You may be wondering what on earth these three products have in common?! The answer is that they are all Solid Oil Products: they are made of a combination of vegetable, plant, or nut oils and butters (and sometimes beeswax or another type of wax), yet they remain solid at room temperature. You can make all kinds of wonderful solid oil products, and this Class Handout we will focus on three of our favorites.

~ Handmade Natural Baby Products are Better! - We can’t think of a better use for natural homemade products than for our most precious little ones. The truth is, babies are so perfect just the way they are, they don’t need much “product” – but whatever they do need you can make simply and inexpensively using all-natural ingredients.

~ Lori’s Mossy Glen Essential Oil Blend Recipe - When Lori taught Natural Perfumery at the HSCG Conference in Las Vegas, students received her Making Natural Perfume Class Handouts with 17 original drop-by-drop recipes (aka suggested blends) for students to make into their own perfumes. We thought we would share one of her favorites with you!

~ Using Yogurt in Hot Process Soap - Hot Process is the perfect choice of soap to make when you completely run out of handmade soap & need some fast, since you can use it pretty much right after it comes out of the mold (although the longer you can cure it, the longer it will last in the shower). Lori made this batch while still based in Louisiana for Christmas gifts. They were a big hit!

~ Quick Tip: Packaging Creams with a Ziploc Baggie - Do you make (or are about to make) your own Lotions & Creams? Do you ever struggle with how to get the cream into the jar in a tidy/pretty way, without making a mess? If so, I have a great tip for you. Use a Ziploc baggie to package your creams. It works perfectly! To share/demonstrate this idea, I thought I would make a pic tutorial with a quick video at the end.
