2020 High Plains Emmaus
Community Lay Director
Dear High Plain Emmaus Community,
First of all, I want to tell you I am excited for 2020, and I know God has plans for me as your community lay director and for the community. I would like to thank Luther Dunlap for your service, hard work, and dedication as the 2019 community lay director. May the Lord continue to bless you and your family.
I would also like to thank Kingswood Methodist Church for hosting the December community meeting. Along with that, a thank you is extended to Ofelia Jasso - what an awesome 4th day talk. We are blessed to have you and Manuel as part of this community and your willingness to share your story with all of us.
The High Plains Emmaus board joins in welcoming new board members: Kathi Shaw, Savanah Curtis, Bill Nolen, Tod Pinnell, and Danny Sanders. Also, we are going to miss those who have fulfilled their term on the board: Kyla Gray, Peggy Tivis, Jace Denton, Jared Curtis, and Kelly Fulfer. Your dedication to the community and doing God’s work is greatly appreciated and you will be missed. Please take a moment and thank all these folks for their willingness to serve Him and the High Plains Emmaus Community with great commitment.
Lastly, I want to thank each of you for helping the board, walk lay directors, and fellow community members for making this an AWESOME community.
Now to the business of what we do as a community. Please be praying for walk lay director Bart Phillips, walk spiritual director Larry Mitchell, and MW#38 which will be held January 23 – 26, 2020. As I write this letter, we have 18 pilgrims. Let’s fill the church Tuesday and pray over this walk and the team. Mark your calendars now to attend the Amherst Methodist Church for candlelight (1/25) 7:00 MST, 8:00 CST and closing (1/26) 3:00 MST, 4:00 CST.
I hope to see you at First Baptist Church, Portales on Tuesday, January 7 at 7:00 MST. Come join us in worship, fellowship, and a fourth day talk. Don’t forget your potluck dish for afterwards.
God Bless and have a fantastic January.
De Colores,
Mary Lou Kropp
