Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week! | Encouragement Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement. "I pray your week has been blessed. Send down the rain Lord – we need it. The weather has been so nice though. Just need some rain. The garden and flowers are growing but they are certainly thirsty. We have been watering but the rain that comes naturally is better for them, I think." "My WORD for this week is “RESPECT” – what do you think of when you see or hear this word? My thoughts went straight to Aretha Franklin singing it! Can you hear it? Now it will be stuck in your head. Anyway, back to the encouragement. Another word for “respect” can be fear, reverence, regard, and such. Sometimes we mistake fear for “respect” or reverence. We may not always agree with some people, but you need to remember to show “respect” anyway. This world has become a place where if we disagree, we can’t be friends, or if we think differently, we do not show others “respect.” We need to stop……all of this. Jesus died for us ALL. Before we were even here (and He would know what rascals we would be sometimes), He still loved us – ALL of us. If we could just get a grasp on that. It seems like the enemy would have us all in this state of argumentative behavior and is loving it. Let’s take a step back every time we feel a disagreement coming – ask the Holy Spirit to guide our words with “respect” and love. This will make such a difference in our lives. “Respect” the position of authority as well – even though we may not agree – “respect” and pray. Let God do the rest. Will leave you with one last thing "R – E – S – P – E – C – T!” Respect everyone, and love the family of believers. Fear God, and respect the king ~ 1 Peter 2:17 (NLT) ~~~ | Blessing Box Located by the Sanctuary doors, the Blessing Box is always available. If you have a need, please write it on one of the cards next to the box and pop it inside. Additionally, if you are not comfortable putting the need on a card, we are always reachable by email at: connectinglife.clc@gmail.com or commongroundsecretary@gmail.com Requests for help with any need will be kept confidential. | June Worship ~ Online & In-Person Pastor Mike Hileman ~ Sundays at 11am Ben St. John will deliver the message on June 25. Dustin, Tori, and Caleb - along with the rest of the cast - absolutely shined on stage in the musical Beauty and the Beast! At the Columbiana Wine Fest, Kitty and Rachel sold lots of jam and got to see many friends, both old and new. Former intern Trevor stopped by for jam and conversation and gave a promise to come visit us in North Lima...which he kept on Tuesday! Trevor accompanied his dad, Don Wilson, as he led a volunteer visit from Canfield Presbyterian Church. It was a joy to work with our friends from CPC, who have come here to serve with GG for many years! Each summer they manage at least one day with youth group members coming out to volunteer at GG. It was also a joy to have Trevor (who just graduated from college with his Doctor of Pharmacy degree and we can now call Dr. Trevor Wilson) home with us here in North Lima! Monday brought us our final intern for this summer. We were all glad to welcome Cam and Keaton's younger brother, Liam Surgenavic, to his first year working at GG. Welcome, Liam! We hope he returns for many more summers! (This is our fourh brother to join the GG family in a tradition started years ago by oldest brother Darius. We are very glad that their family is a part of ours!) On Wednesday, some of our crew headed out to Canfield to take an exercise class with Bethany at Fitness For All. They gave it their all stretching, doing yoga poses, riding stationary bikes, and even using medicine balls and kettle bells. Bethany is a fantastic teacher, taking the time to notice each person's strengths. We can't wait to go back! This Saturday, stop by the Youngstown Flea for the Father's Day Flea. Kitty will be at our table, fully stocked with Jungle Jam, Juicy Jam, and handmade catnip toys. (We hear that there are tons of Dad's hoping for jam for Father's Day this year!
