2018 Summer eNews 1

Hi Member,

Welcome to this week's eNews. I recently came across a post on VIN News about a relatively new Group in the US that is dedicated to supporting independent veterinary practices and I wondered if there was a need for a similar group in Australia? So I'm asking for your opinion in the first blog post below.

In the second post, you'll find a link to the three time-saving resources that were updated and published last week - just in case you missed them the first time around.

This week I'm also really impressed with an app I came across in a blog post from Heart Harmony Communications that I think you'll also find invaluable. If you post on social media or do any kind of writing - Grammarly is going to make your life easier.

You'll also find a couple of free client resources in a post from Dr Andy Roark's blog to help cat owners understand when their pet is in pain and a link to a FREE webinar from Vet Education - but you'll have to be quick as it's on at Midday today (Friday).

Our aim is to help you - save time, connect & discover!

Enjoy your reading :)

Supporting independent veterinary practices in Australia - do we need a Group?

Is the advancement and support of independent veterinary practices for practitioners who value their autonomy already being ably provided by the AVA and other groups within the Australian veterinary industry or is there a need for something more specific?

2018 - Resources to help you get organised in your veterinary practice

In case you missed them last week, I've compiled links to all 3 updated resources into the one blog post: the 2018 Monthly Calendar; the 2018 Blank Social Media Posting Calendar; and the 2018 Blank Blog Post Planning Calendar.

Must have app - Grammarly

The Beginner’s Guide to Grammarly (Heart Harmony Communications)

If you post updates on social media, write a blogs, letters or resources for clients then you'll find this app invaluable.

"Available as an online browser plugin, a native plugin for your Microsoft Office programs and even a mobile app, Grammarly is available to help with your proofreading anywhere you have a connection to the internet."

With both free and paid versions available, this easy to install app will ensure any writing you do is free from the typos and mistakes that reflect poorly on the overall professionalism of your business.

I've already started to test it out and so far I'm really impressed!

Client resource - Cats & Pain

The Ow in that Meow (Dr. Andy Roark Blog)

"Cats often get the short end of the stick when it comes to veterinary care. More than half don’t receive yearly exams, according to some studies, and are often under-diagnosed with conditions such as degenerative joint disease."

Check out more in this blog post and download two useful client handouts:

1. How Do I Know If My Cat Is In Pain?

2. Degenerative Joint Disease In Cats

Handouts are from the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
