Raconteur Radio & The Borough Improvement League cordially invite you to spend an evening with Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, Isadora Duncan, Henri Matisse, F. Scott Fitzgerald & Salvador Dali at 27 Rue de Fleurus. Hosted by Gertrude Stein. |
To commemorate Stein's passing on July 27, 1946, Jane Hardy returns for ONE NIGHT ONLY! with her tour-de-force radio drama portrayal of the dynamic matriarch and the (lost) generation of writers and artists she mentored.
Featuring theatrical lighting, period costuming, extensive sound effects, AND a selection of period Parisian ballads (Edith Piaf, Josephine Baker) sung live by our resident honey-toned chanteuse, Danielle Illario.
PLUS homemade crepes (both sweet and savory) AND a variety of French wines and cocktails popular with the Lost Generation, INCLUDING dripped Absinthe and the Jack Rose (using Harry MacHelone's 1920's Paris recipe)
Cabaret-style table seating. $35 in advance; $45 at the door. For advance tickets call (862) 368-2202 (CC/1.50) or visit Marafiki at 20 Newman St. in Metuchen (Cash/Check). House opens at 7:30 PM. |
