Amazing Ways to Get Free Books

Are you looking for ways to save on books? Maybe you need to feed your own reading hobby or you are looking for books to give as gifts. Either way, these are some ways you can get free books.

2 Free Picture Books from I Can Read Book Club

When you sign up for the I Can Read Book Club, you’ll get 2 free picture books – just pay $1 for shipping. I signed up Isaac for the club, and he loved the new books he received.

We loved the books so much, we continued our subscription. We got books featuring Pete The Cat, Biscuit, Fancy Nancy, a lot more fun characters.

You can read more about our experience with the I Can Read Book Club here.

3 Free Audiobooks From Audiobooks.com

Sign up for a 30-day free trial with Audiobooks.com, and you’ll receive 3 free audiobooks. I am not a huge fan of reading nonfiction books, but I have started experimenting with listening to nonfiction through audiobooks. It is a great way for me to read more nonfiction.

Tip: Two of your free credits go towards regular books and one goes towards their VIP books. If you cancel your account, you’ll still have access to the regular books (they never expire), but VIP books can only be accessed with a live account. When you start listening, prioritize your VIP book so you have time to finish it before you cancel your account.

2 Free Audiobooks from Audible

Sign up for a 30-day free trial of Audible, and you’ll receive 2 free audiobooks. The great thing about Audible is that you can cancel your subscription after you claim your 2 books, and you’ll still have lifetime access to those books. There is no rush to listen to the books during your 30-day trial.

10+ Free Books with Kindle Unlimited

Sign up for a 2 month free trial of Kindle Unlimited, and you get a minimum of 10 free books. (The promotion says it has expired, but it still works.)

I used Kindle Unlimited for the first time this summer with a free trial, and I loved it so much. I can’t remember the last time I read so many books in one summer!

Kindle Unlimited gives you free access to select kindle books through Amazon. To read kindle books, you need to own a kindle (this is the one I have) or you can use a free kindle app on your smartphone. I used and enjoyed both methods.

4 Tips for using Kindle Unlimited:

  1. Right after you sign up for the free trial, you can go into your Amazon account and cancel your subscription, but you’ll still have access for the full 2 months! No need to worry about canceling later.
  2. You can “checkout” 10 kindle unlimited books at a time. If you are interested in a series, look to see if there is a box set available so it will only count as 1 loaned book.
  3. Want to keep reading after your free trial is up? Load up your kindle with books you still want to read, and then turn off the wifi. Without being connected to wifi, your kindle be able to return the unread books.
  4. Disconnecting the wifi might work on the kindle app also if you only open/use the app when your smartphone is on airplane mode. I haven’t tested this theory though.

Buy 2 Books, Get 1 Free on Amazon

For a limited time, you can buy 2 books and get 1 free on Amazon. There are hundreds of books that qualify for the sale. Many of them are already on sale individually, which makes the savings even higher!

Add the books to your cart, and the discount will be applied at checkout. No promo code is needed.

I ordered books for my kids that I am saving for Christmas. The books were cheaper than the Scholastic fliers, and I got one for free!

Buy 2 Books, Get 1 Free on Target

For a limited time, you can buy 2 books and get 1 free on Target. This is the same kind of promotion as Amazon, but the book selection is a bit different. If one store doesn’t have what you are looking for, check the other.

I can’t wait to hear what free books you decide to get!
