If It Scares You, Pay Attention!

My year is off to an energetic start. I'm busy writing, teaching, dancing, and planning traveling trips for the next few months while I finish writing my next book. While my first book was a collection of healthy plant-based recipes (scroll down for more info), this new book is all about my life. It's a memoir about a really tough summer and how adversity drove me to start doing the things that scare me the most in search of happiness, trust, and growth. I'm telling stories about my scary adventures and all the lessons, laughter, joy, tears, and sweat that come along with them.

Writing a book on fears is scary in itself because it's emotional and vulnerable. But it's also extremely gratifying. I'm sharing my stories with plans to inspire YOU to fight for your dreams, prioritize your own happiness, and to start doing more of what you want. This book is the most exciting work I've ever done. I can't wait to share it with you!

I expect to wrap it up this spring and publish over the summer, so stay tuned! In the meantime, read on for a free recipe from my cookbook and for links to my latest articles I've published around the web. You'll get a taste of the direction I'm headed with my book.

Strawberry Salsa

Try this one for SuperBowl Sunday. It's delicious with tortilla chips or to serve sprinkled over any grilled protein.

5 strawberries, hulled
1/2 large orange, peeled
1/2 English or "hothouse" cucumber, peeled
1 avocado, peeled
1 handful fresh basil leaves

Cut the strawberries, orange, cucumber, and avocado into small cubes and place them in a bowl. Roughly chop the basil leaves and sprinkle on top of the fruits. Stir the ingredients together. Chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving with tortilla chips.
