UPCOMING AT CG

Sip & Paint ~ February 1, 7pm

Adam Pratt will be leading a "Sip & Paint" event here for adults to get in on the fun that the youth have had with him! In order to cover the cost of the supplies, there is a fee of $15, due on of before February 1st. We will sip on coffee, cocoa, or tea while getting creative. Light snacks, like cookies and chips, will also be provided. Feel free to bring a snack to share, if desired. Invite a friend to join us in this new CG experience! Sign up on the bulletin board.

Outreach Potluck Soup Luncheon ~ February 3

Stay after Worship to enjoy lunch and fellowship as we say a big thank you to Adam Shank (and his family!) for spending so much time with us over the past year. We'll provide tomato soup, bread, salad, and drinks. Please sign up to bring a pot of soup and/or a dessert.

Ladies Valentine Tea ~ February 9, 1-3pm

Mark your calendars for our annual tea party! Ladies of all ages invited to bring your favorite teatime treat to share. Invite a friend to join the fun.

Afternoon Tea Facts

The History of Afternoon Tea credits Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford. Dinner was served around 9 pm which left the Duchess hungry and to stave this, she would order tea, bread, and cakes in her room. The habit caught on and afternoon tea was born.

A traditional tea starts with finger sandwiches, followed by scones with butter, jam and/or cream, then cakes and, of course, tea.

NEWS & EVENTS

Keeping Busy

It's been a busy new year already at CG/GG. We've tended our parsley that is growing upstairs, made jam, gone grocery shopping, worked in the warehouse, raised a new flag, headed into the woods to cut up a downed tree, found antlers from a deer (now in Maintenance Room), cooked lunch, and more. Stop in any day during the week and see how you can be a part of Goodness Grows!

Jungle Jam

Jam is always available and is a great way to brighten a gloomy winter day! Check out the display on the GG table in the Great Room. Our current flavors of Jungle Jam are Cranberry Jalapeno, Berrylicious, Hot, and Cherry Habanero. We also have one flavor of our pepper-free Juicy Jam, Cranberry Orange.

OUTREACH and MISSION OPPORTUNITIES

Coat & Clothing Drive

Ongoing Outreach/Mission Opportunity
Drop items off in the collection barrel or take them up to the Green Room, anytime throughout the year! Let your friends and family know that we accept donations year-round.

Planning Ahead!

Looking for a way to invite a friend or family member to come to church? A special guest speaker, like Emaline Smith, can be a great way to introduce the topic of a church visit! Nevertheless, not everyone is comfortable with their first visit to a church occurring for Sunday Worship. Sometimes a special event is what opens that door. (Note: Did you know that, on average, people need to receive six invitations before attending church or events? Don't be disheartened, just keep inviting!) Now is a great time to reach out and invite folks to our February events ~ Sip & Paint, Soup Luncheon, and Ladies Tea ~ or even to look toward Outreach's March and April plans. We have a Family Movie Night on March 1st (*Please vote for your movie choice on the bulletin board.), Family Game Night on March 16th, and a Crochet Class on April 6th. Check out the bulletin board for more details.

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.

Matthew 25: 35-36, 40
