Bill Evans 2

William (Bill) Evans is an internationally known choreographer, performer, and teacher among other things. With an impressive and varied list of accomplishments Evans has created over 200 choreographic works for professional and pre-professional companies all over the world along with forming his own company, Bill Evans Dance Company. His choreography features dynamics, precision and rhythm which is influenced by his early studies of tap and modern dance with renowned professionals such as Nikolais, Graham, Limon and Cunningham.

“Bill Evans is an enduring and influential modern dance mainstay. What a treat to see a master choreographer such as he in the full maturity of his performing career.” Wayne Lee, Washington Times

What is the ClancyWorks Dance Educators Training Institute (DETI)?

We believe that outstanding teaching takes place when educators are passionate and engaged in their own artistic growth! ClancyWorks Dance Company and Baltimore County Public Schools Office of Dance co-present intensive professional development programs for artists teaching dance, called the Dance Educators Training Institute (DETI). These week-long workshops are designed to enable participants to delve deeper into their artistic pursuits and to enhance their pedagogical techniques in a challenging and supportive environment.

Who is DETI Intended to Serve?

Sessions are open to the public, with a particular interest to serve choreographers, performers, highly experienced dance educators as well as teaching artists who are just beginning to work in the field of dance education. Administrators and participants from various arts and educational disciplines are invited and encouraged to attend the workshops.
