Join Us This Sunday for the 6th Sunday after Pentecost
You can enjoy Sunday's worship anywhere and anytime after 8:00 A.M on your phone, laptop, iPad, or if you have a smart tv. So grab a cup of coffee or tea, and join our St. Mark family in worship. If you missed a service, they are all there on our YouTube channel.

We will be streaming abbreviated, pre-recorded worship services on our St. Mark YouTube Channel, available for viewing throughout the day on Sundays, beginning at 8:00 A.M.

Look for a special email and push notification from our app on Sunday morning providing a link to this service on YouTube. We hope this is bringing a much-needed sense of community during these difficult times of separation.

Welcome Interim Associate Pastor
Robert Franek

Most of you have heard the news already, hopefully by mail and email that the council has hired an Interim Associate Pastor, Robert Franek. For now, you will mostly get to know him through our Sunday services online. As we enter the fall and work our way back toward in-person gatherings, he will work mostly with our Bible study groups and the Confirmation program, in addition to leading worship along with Pastor Chad. We are so thankful for Pr. Robert’s willingness to be with us in this time of transition and look forward to the work we will be able to do together. If you need to contact Pastor Robert, you can do so my email, prrobert@stmarklc.com or call the church office, 815-398-3557. He is also listed in the church directory.

And another bit of news, Karen Osolin, our receptionist has asked to reduce her hours, so in order to continue to have full coverage at the front desk Monday through Friday, we have hired Jamie Mundy as our second receptionist. Jamie has been a member of St. Mark for many years and we are delighted she will be apart of our staff.

Please help us in welcoming both Pastor Robert and Jamie to our St. Mark staff family.

Vacation Bible School Update
I am sad to announce that Vacation Bible School has been cancelled for 2020. There is no safe or manageable way to host this event in a way that is meaningful and meets the core missions of the St. Mark children’s ministry program. For now, we look forward in hope to a return to VBS in summer 2021!

Ribbons

Add a Ribbon, Say a Prayer!
Every year of Crop Walk we go past a house that has one of these cool, ribbon displays blowing in the wind. Please add a ribbon for someone or something in your prayers. While there check out our little free library!

Let your faith be bigger then your fear

We, the church, you, are doing a good job of reaching out to others. Please continue to send cards, and make phone calls to our church community, neighbors, family, and friends. If there is someone you’ve been missing or wondering how they are, now is the time to reach out. A card or a call can make a person's week!

Tears and Triumph Pr Marks Book

Dear friends,
I am delighted to announce the completion of my book, Tears and Triumph: A Journey Toward Resurrection. I began this writing project nine months ago while on sabbatical, and I am eager to finally share my story. I am grateful for the encouragement and support you’ve given me during this precious time of reflection and writing. I pray that you will likewise discover encouragement and hope in the reading of it. This book is available in both Kindle and Paperback editions, only through Amazon. Please use this link to order your copy. Pastor Mark Hagen

Bible Study outdoors

To the women of the Wednesday Bible Study-- let's get together!!!!!
I would like for us to meet and see one another while we discuss options for the unit of study in the Fall. For those who can make it ( and we will practice good social distancing ) plan on meeting Wednesday, July 15th at 10:00 behind the church near the playground. There is a wonderful shady tree there. Bring a lawn chair to sit in and the beverage of your choice. Orange juice and doughnuts will be provided. If you have any questions call Deb Iverson. Hope to see you there!!!!!!

Masks

Thank you to the Sew and Sews who have been incredibly busy. They are each making 100’s of face masks. St. Mark is truly blessed by our Sew and Sews! Because of their generosity, their heart, and skills, the sewers are making masks for the congregation, as needed.

There is a bin of masks, outside the south doors. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 A.M. till Noon. If you need masks dropped to your residence, children size, or questions text/call Melinda Alekna 815-871-0390. If you would like to help with delivering to people, we could use your help as well.

St. Mark Prayer Chain
Would you like to be a part of the St. Mark prayer chain? Prayer requests come into the church office weekly. As we receive prayer requests we would send out an e-mail and ask that you pray daily for the persons mentioned in the requests. All requests are to remain confidential. Please e-mail melinda@stmarklc.com if you would like to participate in the prayer chain. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” Colossians 4:2.
