Join us for CT in the UP, a computational thinking learn fest at Northern Michigan University on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm ET! We will learn about computational thinking and strategies to integrate into all content areas of grades PK-16. Registration is free and open to all current and future PK-16 Educators, Instructional Aides, Trainers, and anyone interested in exploring CT. 6 SCECHs or the option of earning 1 graduate credit will be available. A light breakfast service and lunch will be provided. ( See flier for more information.)

Travel support

Carpool with WUP CTIP Integrationalists leaving from the CCISD in Hancock at 6:50 am. Indicate your interest by 5 p.m. on Monday, August 14

Stipends

Western UP educators who participate in the full workshop will be eligible for a modest $125 stipend to offset their time during the summer vacation. Limited Stipends are available & must be requested through the Travel/Stipend Request Form

Get real-world experience to answer "When will I ever use this?" with the WUP STEM Teacher Externship Program! Partnering with local businesses and organizations, educators can conduct 1-day externships and work alongside industry professionals to bring curriculum to life. This program will also include up to 90 minutes of virtual pre-work with stipend and SCECH opportunities available.

The REMC1 Team

The 21 staff members of REMC1 met in-person on June 12 & 13 for the annual REMC1 Retreat . This two-day event is an opportunity for the staff to learn about new technologies being implemented in the coming year and to plan and assess the technology needs of our supported agencies. Our mission at REMC1 is to support, empower, and advance communities and the REMC1 retreat helps us to prepare to meet these goals.
