The Master Gardener Foundation holds monthly educational meetings, the first Tuesday of each month, except January, July and August. The meetings are held at 7:00 PM at the CASEE Center, Bldg B, Room 202/205, 11104 NE 149th St, Brush Prairie WA.

with Dave Doolittle, Owner, Petal Heads

David Doolittle will discuss Helleborus, where new plants were discovered, how they were developed, and what makes them unique. In addition, David will cover planting and care of Helleborus.

Dave and Annilese Doolittle launched Petal Heads™ in the summer of 2008 with the vision of offering unique plants, both Annual and Perennial, to other plant enthusiasts. Combined they have over 25 years of Horticultural education and work experience. Dave spent 14 years of his career working for 2 of the nation's premier breeders and propagators specializing in Annuals, Perennials, Succulents, Flowering Shrubs, and Ornamental Grasses. Annilese has collected plants since her adolescence, has a degree in horticulture from the University of Illinois, and has worked in the industry for several years.

On the Road Tour – By Land and By Sea – Thursday, Mar. 16

Join the WSU Extension Clark County Master Gardeners for an On the Road Tour to Greene Jungle Farm, an Animal Welfare Approved farm using natural techniques that go beyond organic with an emphasis on sustainability. All of their animals are raised on pasture. Next up is Pacific NW Best Fish Company, a family owned retail fish market offering wild-caught, regional seafood. We will learn how they process or smoke their fish. Then we’re on to Northwest Organic Farm, a community supported agriculture venture where they grow some unique vegetables along with many varieties of tomatoes and garlic. We’ll wrap up with a visit to NW Nut, where they roast their nuts in all kinds of glazes that they make in small handmade batches cooked in copper kettles.

DATE: Thurs., Mar. 16, 2017. Van transportation from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, 9319 NE Hwy 99, Hazel Dell, WA at 9am sharp, returning at 5pm. Wear boots for mud; bring warm jacket and rain gear.

Mindful Pruning Strategies for Ornamental, Woody Plants

Presented by Beth Goodnight, landscape designer and gardening coach

Learn how a plant responds when it’s pruned. Learn how to guide a plant's shape and size with careful, thoughtful pruning. Not all woody plants are to be pruned the same way. Break the mold of shearing everything! There will be a class presentation and demonstrations out in the gardens so please dress appropriately.

The 26th Anniversary of Clark Public Utilities Home & Garden Idea Fair
Planning now for special events and showcases. Don't miss your chance to be a part of the celebration. Securing space for the HGIF requires current SNACC membership, submission of an exhibitor contract and deposit.
Membership: SNACC membership is $50 annually (Jan.-Dec.)
Contract: A completed and signed Exhibitor Contract indicating booth selections must be submitted to reserve a booth. Please include your business license AND UBI.
Deposits: Non-refundable $50 deposit PER BOOTH must accompany the Exhibitor Contract.
Booth Preferences Indicate booth number preference and/or any special request in terms of layout you may have ie. who you would prefer to be placed by (or not), etc. Request will be taken into consideration as booth selection/placement is being made.
Balances: All balances must be paid no later than thirty days prior to the show.
