The Power of Bad

The Power of Bad

Hello again.

I hope that you're navigating your way through the choppy waters across our collective lives, work, families and society. We're being forced to adapt in new ways that's for sure. I'm noticing many encouraging patterns emerging in the process.

After a tricky first 2 weeks of lockdown, followed by the wonders of homeschooling (!) (pause & shudder) I carved a new path with Jessica my wife and the wider team of colleagues I'm lucky to partner with. Working from home more than usual we have hugely enjoyed the way clients embraced us in the wraparound support they're investing in their people. It's been different without the travel and yet the learning I've gone through has been priceless. It has reframed what I thought possible in delivering the change that Spring built its reputation on.

We've run Zooms from 1-60 people from London to Edinburgh to Manila. We've helped reset people's sleep patterns. Sparked dopamine through movement and music as clients were stuck at their desk all day. We've instigated spoof commutes for state change and exercise during the day. We've delivered our remote leadership development remotely... helping folk lead entire organisations from their bedroom or kitchen table. We've supported frazzled leaders reduce the time spent firefighting and increased their time connecting with their teams. It's been a fantastic roller coaster ride - yet strangely tranquil compared to being on public transport and walking through city centres.

What's in this email for you?

▪ A new blog on a subject that is fascinating me and already helping with relationships, coaching, leadership and parenting to name a few! The Power of Bad has me hooked.
▪ The usual mix of articles featured on the Spring Twitter Feed, Facebook page & my personal Linkedin Profile.
▪ Some books that I've been reading and found valuable - often after they've been recommended to me, so I like to keep passing them on. They're added to my not-for-profit reading list - have a look and see what you make of them. If you do buy any, then the proceeds go to the S.U.R.E Charity at the Beacon Centre that do so much wonderful work fighting cancer (including my Dad's.)

Let me know what you're finding useful from the articles and blogs I'm sharing. If there's anything you'd like to hear more about, then I can include that in future.
