I want to thank everyone for supporting our school during our Harvest Night Gala. It was a beautiful night for everyone to come together as a community. I was very grateful that night and I am truly grateful for everyone that shares the common thread of Laurel.
I feel one of our greatest accomplishments as a community at Laurel is exhibited through our positivity, kindness and connections. These aspects of a community are so important especially when members of our “circle” need support.
During this past school year, I have personally witnessed many families, faculty and friends that have been experiencing difficult times in their lives that ultimately grounds me creating reflection and appreciation for all of the “little things”. It is easy to get caught up in our daily routines but no matter how busy we may be, making those personal connections creates a strong community, as we are cognizant of those around us, understanding the challenges one may face.
One of the goals I have had for our school is the ability for our community to lend support to one another when needed; that we utilize our connections to continue to create a community of positivity and kindness. A simple smile, a hug, a note, or an offer of help, are just some of the ways to cultivate compassion in our community.
My hope is that as we continue to gain strength as we work together on our path of compassion and kindness; we leave our community a little better than we found it! Be good to one another and have a wonderful holiday season!
Best,
Amy Carroll
