Join us this Sunday for Worship! | It's a big day for Common Ground Church Community! Twelve years ago today - August 30, 2006 - our church purchased the former Mellinger's Nursery & Garden Center. The twelve year anniversary is traditionally marked by gifts of home decor, linen, silk, or pearls. Instead of gifts, we ask for your prayers of thanksgiving and perseverance on behalf of our wonderful church home and family.

Wednesday Morning: Ladies Study - 9am - The book of Job You are welcome to join in a study at any time! | Garden & Nursery News The Garden (1st grade & up) is on summer break for one more week. It will resume after Labor Day, on September 9th! Activity pages are on the table by the Sanctuary doors. On Communion Sundays, the Garden kids will remain in Worship and activity pages will be available. Our Nursery is available for little ones through three years old. When the Garden class returns, we will also start having Bible Story Time for our 3's and under in the Nursery. While the "big kids" get a lesson, the littlest ones will have the opportunity to hear God's Word through short stories geared to their age group. If you stop in the Nursery at that time, it may not look like they are learning but kids have an amazing capacity to take in more than we give them credit for. You might be surprised one day at all that these young ones will gain from a story time! | Back to School Potluck September 9th, After Worship

Sign up Sunday...for real this time! | Salsa Making with Rachel Many jars of salsa were canned and fun was had by all here on Saturday! Thank you to Rachel for sharing your delicious salsa recipe and your canning skills with us. If you have any skills or talents you want to share, we are open to and excited about more opportunities! | Painting with Adam Painting was a great success! Thank you to Adam Pratt for spending the afternoon teaching us some very cool techniques. All the youth and parents enjoyed this entire process. We cannot wait to hear your plans for a Christmas themed event! | Regular Meetings Starting September 16th! Watch the Scoop and your email for Youth Group plans and events. Youth Group (grades 5 and up) meets most Sunday evenings of the school year, from 6:00-7:30. The fall schedule will begin on September 16th. We will not meet during the four weeks of Fall Bible School (explained below), so everyone is invited and encouraged to participate in that special event! Thank you to everyone who helped make our summer events fantastic this year.

What better time to visit the orchard than September & October?!? We are still ironing out details, but we nailed down dates and times. Mark your calendars for after Worship on Sunday September 30, October 7, and October 14 as well as Saturday, October 20 at 3:00. More info will be sent out in the Scoop, by email, our website, and Facebook as soon as we have it. We hope everyone is eager to join us on this new adventure! | Fall Fest - October 20th This year's October event will be part of our Fall Bible School. We will end with costumes and trick-or-treating, and before that we will enjoy some final time in Abundance Orchard. If the weather cooperates, we will wrap up the night with hot dogs and marshmallows at our fire pit. | Advent Celebration Help us kick off the Advent season on the first Sunday of Advent, December 2nd. We will gather at 3:00 for activities, with dinner to follow at 5:00. Reserve that date on your calendar today! | CSA 2018 Today is CSA day, from 4-7pm. This week's goodies will include lettuce, carrots, zucchini muffins, and more. Don't forget to grab your recipes!
