What are you doing to keep warm during this winter?

Eggs, lemon, and avocado on toast. A breakfast favorite.

If you are living somewhere other than the Northeast, you may be warm and toasty. We've had our share of snow days in Newton.

I've been working a lot in the studio getting ready for spring shows, decluttering my spaces, and cooking more than usual.

Crock pot beef stew. Throw it in the AM, eat it in the PM.

Last week's menu included beef stew, chicken mushroom casserole (just like my mother used to make with tunafish), heartier breakfasts and some well deserved dessert parties.

Give my mother's chicken casserole a shot!

What you'll need:
1 cup of cut up cooked chicken
1 can Campbell's mushroom soup
3 carrots, 1 onion diced
1/2 cup of frozen peas
1 cup of pasta (whatever turns you on–traditionally, we've used elbow noodles.)

1. Put all the veggies in the bottom of a 2 quart glass casserole dish with 1/4 cup of water.
2. Microwave for 2 minutes to just steam them
3. Mix the mushroom soup into the veggies with 1 cup of water.
4. Add the noodles and chicken. Mix well.
5. Bake for 45 mins at 350 until the top is browning and the sides are bubbling.
6. Serve with a great bread, green salad, and apple sauce (as we did in Brooklyn!).
