In this legislative session of budget slashing and cutting of programs of all kinds, some of them seriously affecting the practice of architecture and the built environment, now is the time to have our voices heard at the Roundhouse more than ever.
You are invited to participate in a day of AIA NM grassroots advocacy at the New Mexico State Capitol in Santa Fe on Tuesday, February 7th. We’ll start the day with briefings on hot issues of concern to architects on bills being considered in this 60-day legislative session. Then we’ll roam the Roundhouse to meet with legislators and discuss the merits of these issues.
A Memorial declaring February 7th as “New Mexico Architects Day” will be read in the House and Senate under your watchful eye from the gallery of each chamber. We’ll follow up with an off-site lunch and debriefing.
Registration is required by Friday, February 3rd. Send an e-mail to nmdirector@aianewmexico.org or call Jean Gibson at 505.328.3969 to register.
