The Regional Flagship Events Program was established in 1997 to identify and support events in NSW that have the potential to act as ‘cornerstone’, or Flagship, tourism events for their area by attracting overnight visitation and delivering long-term benefits to their region.
The Regional Flagship Events Program is an umbrella title under which the there are three funds funding streams as follows:
• Incubator Event Fund – supporting the establishment of new events;
• Flagship Event Fund – supporting the marketing of emerging events to increase profile and encourage visitation; and
• Event Development Fund – supporting the strategic development of proven events as drivers of tourism.
Applications for Round One of the Flagship Event Fund are now open. Events held in January to June 2019 are invited to apply for funding to support marketing activities that attract overnight visitation from outside the event’s local area.
Please note, from 2019 grants in the Flagship Event Fund will be allocated in two rounds:
■ Round One – for events taking place in January–June 2019.
■ Round Two – for events taking place in July–December 2019.
To apply, applicants will now complete a single application form for assessment. The expression of interest stage has been discontinued.
The Flagship Event Fund offers two grants:
• Annual grants of $20,000 (excl. GST)
• Triennial grants of $27,500 (excl. GST) plus and additional $2,500 (ex.GST) value-in-kind research services per year for three years.
Full eligibility conditions and the fund criteria can be found in the Terms and Conditions. Applicants are encouraged to read the Terms and Conditions fully prior to submitting an application to ensure their event meets the minimum requirements. Applications for events that do not meet the criteria will not be considered for funding.
Applications will close at midnight on Monday, 8th October 2018. Applications received after this date will not be accepted.
