Rix Pyke says, "Pharmaceutical psychiatry has lost its way. Shuffling after the illusion of its magic-bullet cures, it has created the nightmares of the 'revolving door syndrome' and the iatrogenic disease-creating hell that fills our mental hospitals and dumps poor-outcome patients onto the benefits system for the rest of their lives."
Rix discusses the state of UK mental healthcare - similar to that in other developed nations - in which a significant number of patients now appear to be "iatrogenically disabled" by their medication so that, rather than recovering, they become the long-term mentally ill.
She then looks at how treatment could be so much better and the role homeopathy can play. All in all, Rix and the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths (ARH) have presented a truly enlightened article that should be read, considered, and dare I say implemented, in mental health care today.

Maureen Curran tells us how she first used homeopathy many years ago for the flu, and never looked back.
Since then she has treated herself and family for varied complaints such as motion sickness, allergies, stomach flu, poison ivy, and emotional issues. She provides basic and useful information for those considering homeopathy as an addition to their home medicine cabinet, along with interesting anecdotes.

Dr Keith Souter gives a rundown on homeopathic remedies suitable for ear, nose and throat problems such as nasal polyps, nosebleeds, allergic rhinitis, sore throats, sinusitis, earache and vertigo.
He says: "Homeopathic medicines when judiciously selected to cover the patient’s pattern of symptoms will often shorten the course of the problem or even nip it in the bud. In addition, more chronic problems affecting the ears and nose such as perennial rhinitis, nasal polyps, and some cases of tinnitus will often respond very well to homeopathic intervention."

The Malta Times says that homeopathy has flourished in Malta since being introduced in 2003. They interview one of the founding homeopaths who provides several treatment stories. The following is one of them:
“My patient was an elderly woman, who had chronic peripheral circulation in her fingertips. Each winter they would go gangrenous. A doctor told her that in time they would need to amputate. Since then she has been using homeopathy and with each passing year her condition improved. She’s completely fine now.”

Models have been using Arnica for some time with claims it improves their appearance before a show.
Arnica helps types of inflammation, wound healing, muscle soreness, and bruising. (Other types may need different remedies depending on the symptoms experienced.)
While the article confuses herbal and potentised Arnica, both work by the homeopathic effect. When potentised, though, it works more deeply and without any toxic or irritating side-effects.

Heidi from Gaia Health says sceptics should base their statements about homeopathy on experience and observation rather than saying it can't work because there is not yet a full explanation of how it works.
She then shows how, if the same faulty sceptic logic were to be applied to other areas, we would not use electricity or anaesthesia because we don’t fully understand how they work, either.
Heidi also discusses limitations of the “gold standard” and some of the best ways to study the homeopathic effect.
