Welcome to Draw from The Well!

For those who are new here, this is the newsletter that I send out once a month to friends and family. The newsletter is one of my favorite ways to connect and to share ideas, information, and resources that will help us embrace God's design for our lives. The newsletter also links to the blog content for each month and typically shares some behind the scenes happenings.

I'm so excited to be venturing into a new year with you. One that holds promise of new ideas, content, and resources, all aimed at helping to equip and empower you to live out God's design for your life.

Come on. Let's dive on in and Draw from The Well!

Draw from The Well

Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

Psalm 84:5-6 (KJV)

It's a New Year, and we've had many new subscribers over the past few months. I think that makes it a wonderful time to revisit WHY we call the newsletter, Draw from the Well

Look again at Psalm 84:5-6. Do you see it?

Blessed are the well diggers!

Yes, we will go through the valleys -- relationship valleys, financial valleys, health valleys, major life transition valleys, and so many more. But notice that those valleys are not our final destination. Scripture says we will go "through" the valley. Our destination is, in fact, the place of peace, the city of refuge - not the valley!

It's important for us to remember that our time in the valley is temporary. The hurt, the fear, the dryness. It's for a season, not forever. And as much as it hurts, our time in the valley is necessary. For the place of peace is THROUGH the valley.

So, what do we do when we are in the dry, barren valley? We dig wells. We clear a way. We make room for the presence of God, and we prepare a "container" for receiving the provision that God is going to send.

Dig your well. While you are in the valley, prepare for receipt of His provision. In a relationship valley? See a counselor, schedule date nights. Financial valley? Create a budget, seek a mentor. --Make room. Be still. Get to know Him.

Draw from your well. Reach in and receive the provision He has poured out.

Our prayer is that this newsletter would be for you a well. A place for receiving God's provision as you journey to the place of peace.

SURVEYS

As we work to prepare some new materials for 2019, we can use your help. Our topic is the mother-in-law/daughter-in-law relationship as it applies to grandparenting. We're collecting data as the beginning steps of the process, and these surveys are the vehicle. Each survey takes only about 6 minutes to complete and is totally anonymous. Simply click the button for the survey(s) that apply to you. Thank you!!!!
