TAFE & Sapphire Coast Tourism free tourism training - now open for enrolment

TAFE Illawarra and Sapphire Coast Tourism are pleased to confirm the details of the Fee Free tourism training program designed for Sapphire Coast Tourism.

This 'fee free' program is designed to meet the needs of participants in the tourism and hospitality industry who are presenting and interpreting tourism activities and selling tourism and hospitality products.

The training is suitable for tour guides, tourism and hospitality operators and visitor information centre staff and volunteers.

On successful completion participants will achieve a Statement of Attainment from TAFE Illawarra.

The program will run in Merimbula with sessions from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm each Wednesday from 13th April – 1st June 2016

How to enrol

Step 1. Obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI) or have your USI number handy. It is a requirement that everybody participating in this program have a USI and we are unable to enrol students in the fee free course without a USI. Further information and a link to obtain a USI is available here

Step 2. Enrol on line via this Tourism Training link

The program includes:
SITXCOM202 Provide a briefing or scripted commentary
SITTGDE305 Develop and maintain the general and regional knowledge required by guides
SITTTSL303 Sell tourism products and services
SITXCCS201 Provide visitor information
BSBCUS201 Deliver a service to customers
BSBCUS301 Deliver & monitor a service to customers
HLTAID003 Provide first aid – will be delivered separately on a date TBC with participants.
