Photo Challenge : Parallel Worlds

Dear Aminusians

Thanks again for all of your excellent submissions to the previous Aminus3 photo challenge "Postcards from Home." We were moved by the insightful images and experiences you shared from around the world.

It is time for a new photo challenge to enliven the joyful creator in each of us.

This one is going to be a little more complex, but we are sure this highly creative community will rise to the challenge.

The theme is called "Parallel Worlds".

The idea is to capture two different "realities" or "scenes" in a single photo frame.

Here are some ideas of photos that would fit this theme:

Possible subjects might include: windows, multi-exposure, mirrors, water reflections, collage or composite, a wide angle lens capturing two different views, architecture of different time periods, or something along these lines that we have not yet considered!

This is a great open concept to get creative.

Background for this Challenge

Wherever you are in the world, I don't think a single one of us would disagree that we are in the midst of one of the most unusual periods of our collective lifetime. It seems that the "norms" or status quo is being dismantled piece by piece on a daily basis.

What will things be like on the other side of this global calamity? I don't think we can fully conceive while we are still in the experience, though each of us has an opportunity to create something new from the old.

With that in mind, for some of us it may feel like we are experiencing "parallel worlds" in that life appears one way, but at the same time there is something very different going on.

Is one reality more "real" than any other? Or do we experience them simultaneously?

As photographers, how can we can capture this feeling of experiencing "two different realities" and conveying them in a single photo?

This is your challenge.

Best of luck and Godspeed!
