New Select Partner Group

We are pleased to welcome Womankind to our credit union's Select Partner Group (SPG) program to allow their participants access to our membership, and our affordable products and services.

Founded 39 years ago as the New York Asian Women’s Center and renamed in 2017, Womankind works tirelessly to create a future where we Rise Above Violence and our communities can innovate towards collective well-being, restoration, and social justice.

Womankind offers a wide variety of services in 18+ Asian languages and dialects, including: a toll-free 24/7 multilingual helpline, safe and confidential emergency residences (shelters), counseling, family law and immigration legal assistance, wellness activities, creative arts therapy, support groups, and economic empowerment workshops.

Through our partnership, we hope to bridge the means of access to banking, building credit, and financial services, to support their communities in establishing long-term economic security.

Employee of the Month

Congratulations to Ayasilis Nunez, our Member Service Representative, who is our employee of the month for her hard work and commitment to our organization’s mission.

Ayasilis has been with LES People’s for 7 years and over 20 with the financial cooperative movement. She joined us with the acquisition of Union Settlement FCU.

What she enjoys the most is serving our communities. She likes to say “Quien no vive para servir, no sirve para vivir”.

This year she has been helping members and partner referrals with information and services around ITIN banking, which is unknown to many and who may not have access to affordable financial services anywhere else; “it makes me happy to be able to serve these members with dignity and the respect they deserve.”

We are very proud to have Ayasilis on our team.
