Shortlist announced for Short+Sweet Hollywood 2019

Dear playwrights,

The shortlisted plays for Short+Sweet Hollywood 2019 have just been announced. Please find them below.

The standard of scripts overall was extremely high with the assessors having a very tough time separating the nearly 500 entries.

So congratulations to all those who submitted plays and an extra special congratulations to those whose work has been selected for the shortlist.

Scripts are currently being read by the S+S Hollywood directors and shortlisted writers will hear from either the directors or the festival staff soon if they made the final cut.

This process just began so please be patient while the final selection is being made. Do note that some of the shortlisted scripts will not be selected for the season.

Plays which aren't selected from the outset are available for directors to pick up if there are any withdrawals or late openings, so there's always a chance to be included if you don't hear good news right away.

Also the list does not include ITCs and Spanish language scripts which have a seperate selection process. Festival staff will be in touch directly with those writers, if they haven't been already.

For those who didn't make the shortlist, your script is still being considered for many other S+S festivals including Short+Sweet Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sydney 2020. You don't need to do anything further - your script is still in the running.

But if you have another script you would like to enter please submit by clicking on the "Submit Your Script" button below.

Our next deadline is for Short+Sweet Dubai and Abu Dhabi on September 30.

Happy writing and as always we look forward to reading your plays.
