In this edition...

It has been all systems go, school as usual this term and as you’ve seen from previous weeks we are kicking goals with our teaching and learning!

As the leaders of Malvern Valley, we are committed to the school vision of creating confident children with choices for their future and continuing to foster an environment that empowers our students to develop a growth mindset; utilising their strengths to become global empathetic citizens. We continue to focus on ensuring our students have voice and agency with their learning. Our Grade 5/6s are printing aliens on our 3D printer and the Preps have been researching different countries and are presenting findings at a Country Expo. The Grade 3/4s are grand designers, finding ways to appreciate vegetation in urban settings and the Grade 1/2s are working on making our school more sustainable. The students of MVPS are continually being challenged and encouraged to ‘think outside the box’ and to always strive to do their best.

It has been thrilling to watch the school community come together in preparation for our musical, The Lion King Jr. We can’t wait - 2 more sleeps!

We are leaders who deeply understand the present before deciding the future. We look forward to continuing to share the great things that are happening this year at Malvern Valley.

Father’s Day Breakfast

Thank you to our PA for putting on a spectacular Father’s Day breakfast for all the MVPS dads and special friends. There was such a great buzz around the school, lots of people enjoying egg and bacon rolls or pancakes, children and dads making mugs, there was a footy kicking competition and a basketball competition. Thank you to Mr Brown for setting up the sports activities and well done to the people who won the Bunnings Vouchers. We would also like to thank TheirCare for sponsoring our Father’s Day breakfast, this means all funds from ticket sales goes back to MVPS! We hope everyone had as much fun as we did.

SUNSMART School Hats

It is hard to believe that we are talking about sunnier weather arriving soon. However, we want to take this opportunity to remind you that all students must wear their school hats from 1st September. A limited number of school hats are available to purchase from the school office for $16 or you can order a hat online from Spartan. Please remember to bring and wear your school hat from the 1st of September.

Last week we celebrated our acting Principal and acting Assistant Principal. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the school. We really appreciate you.

Reminder about school camp payments. School Council is very pleased that Malvern Valley Primary School are able to offer camps to our Year 3-4 and 5-6 students, however note that we require all families to contribute financially if they would like their child to attend. These camps are provided at great expense by the school and we may not be able to offer them in future if financial contributions are not made. If you are having difficulty paying but would still like your child to attend, please speak to the office. Thank you.
