Father's day is approaching and graduations are in full swing. These events get us in the mood for some outdoor grilling. Whether you're thinking about catering your own party or just having a small cookout, think Stuart's for some great rubs and recipe ideas! While our House Hog Rub, Sweet Honey and Smokin' Sweet BBQ are always a hit, we have other ideas to get your cooking noticed.

State Fair Chicken is a classic seasoning blend which is mixed in a vinegar base served at county and state fairs alike. And if you live in New York State, you may know of this recipe as Cornell Chicken, served at church chicken BBQs and firemen's fundraisers. The recipe was developed by a Professor Baker at Cornell University in 1950.

Our Rochester Plates Meat Sauce Seasoning is always a hit! While definitely a Rochester favorite, its popularity is growing all around the country. Even without a true "plate", the meat sauce is the perfect accompaniment to all your burgers and hot dogs. Tom loves making it as a "Plates" soup!

Monday June 10 - tastings of shawarma on chicken or garbanzo beans, along with Volcanic chocolate chip cookies
Tuesday June 11 happens to be National Corn on the Cob Day, so taste our Corn-on-the-Cob Seasoning on some corn!
Wednesday June 12 - Herbes de Provence with goat cheese. We will have a non-dairy option, as well.
Thursday June 12 - Cecie will be baking up some scones with poppy seeds and lavender
Friday June 13 - Cecie will close out the week with fresh baked cinnamon rolls - her father's own recipe!

Taco Seasoning
Restaurants have used and loved our taco seasoning for years. We decided such a great seasoning should be available to all of our customers. What sets our taco seasoning apart is that we use all natural ingredients, no fillers, it is sugar free and has about 50% less salt than some of the most popular commercial taco seasoning packets. In addition, because our spices are packed with so much flavor, you need far less to season one pound of meat than you do of a commercial brand.

As of June 1, 2019, all of our herbs, spices, seasoning blends, peppers, salts, sausage seasonings, oils and extracts are certifed kosher by BVK. It will take a while for all of our bottles to include this logo, but our certification is on file. (There are 3 products that do not have kosher certification and these will be labeled as such on their individual web page.)

Greek Herbs Quinoa Salad

Warm weather is all about satisfying salads with fresh, zesty flavors that our blends deliver! Our Greek Herbs balance the brightness of mint with undertones of onion and garlic. The oregano, interestingly, is in the same family as mint, so shares some minty notes.

Ingredients:
1 cup quinoa, uncooked
1 large cucumber, diced (about 2-3 cups)
2 medium tomatoes, diced (about 2-3 cups)
1 can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained

For the dressing:
⅓ cup light or extra virgin olive oil
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (about 1-2 lemons)
1½ tablespoons Stuart's Spices Greek Herbs
Ground black pepper, to taste

Directions:
Mix together the dressing ingredients in advance to allow the dried spice flavors to blossom.
Cook quinoa per package directions. Let cool slightly.
Toss the diced cucumber, tomatoes and beans into the quinoa.
Pour dressing over the salad and mix well.
Refrigerate to cool.
May be made a day in advance.
