Please Come and Volunteer with Us!! **** | Since early in our beginning in 2003, HOPE has been teaming with high school students to enhance their knowledge and learning skills about dogs and cats and the overpopulation and rate of euthanasia at our shelters all across Southern California! Those high school students who love animals and need service hours have always been welcomed to volunteer with us!! Over the years, we have met so many wonderful students who have enjoyed performing their service hours with us!! And for many years, HOPE has awarded a scholarship to an exemplary student who has provided consistent service to our organization. If you're a high school student in junior or senior year that loves animals and needs service hours, we suggest you contact us! We would love to have you volunteer with us! | We are grateful to the Mothers and Daughters from the National Charity League that devote time and energy volunteering with us! These wonderful Mother and Daughter teams not only volunteer with us at our Pet Adoption Center inside the Upland PetSmart retail store, they also provide much needed help during our many fundraisers. They are wonderful examples of service in action. They are to be wholeheartedly thanked for all they do to help our organization when we most need their help! Thank you so very much!! We appreciate you!!! | By---Sofia Isabella Flores I have been a proud HOPE volunteer since my Freshman year of high school in 2019. I have always loved animals, and I have discovered truly what a gem Helping Out Pets Everyday is to the community and world at large! This reputable and kind organization treats both its animals and volunteers with the utmost respect and love. They take the time to give each and every individual dog and cat a safe, healthy, and amazing forever home. After the last 5 years of volunteering with multiple various events and such with HOPE. I can tell you that it truly is a safe haven for homeless pets. Through my time here, I have been fortunate enough to find the greatest sense of joy and fulfillment. I have been able to serve the homeless animals of my community with care and patience. There is nothing I cherish more than bringing joy to the lives of others, and this has allowed me to do exactly that. I have also been able to further develop my leadership skills by taking on additional responsibilities with the organization as they become available, communicating important information amongst fellow volunteers, and working cooperatively alongside a large group of others. I was honored to even receive a scholarship in my Senior Year from Helping Out Pets Everyday for my service - a memory and gift that I am forever grateful for. I still volunteer to this day, even as a college student, and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate and look forward to my time at HOPE each week. Helping Pets Everyday is amazing, and I cannot recommend them enough to any high schoolers seeking service and community engagement activities! | In Search of Grant Funding** | Western University VACS has no appointments this rotation so unfortunately we are unable to schedule any spay/neuter surgeries. HOPE is working with a talented grant writer who will be helping us to hopefully obtain grant funding so we can support low cost spay neuter opportunities for those wishing to have their cat or dog spayed or neutered. Dog and cats are still being euthanized in record numbers due to overpopulation, so we know how vitally important it is for us to focus on this area in order to reduce the numbers of innocent animals being put to sleep! As we all know, it's not easy to obtain grant funding. But we are determined to do all that we can to obtain the monies necessary to help pet owners to prevent more unwanted births! Please wish us well as we do our best to obtain substantial funding to help pet owners spay or neuter their pets. | A Word Of Caution Feeding your beloved pets foods that contain by-products is not a good choice! Avoid pet food brands which contain these additives. They are very unhealthy to feed your dog or cat. Check the label and should they contain by-products, find another brand. If our pets are passing prematurely or at an early age, it could be related to the very foods we are feeding them. | Important Vaccine Information Next time your dog or cat goes to your favorite veterinarian for booster vaccines, ask your veterinarian if the vaccine is a non-adjuvanted vaccine. Non-adjuvanted vaccines are safer. Do some research and become educated as to the possible side effects associated with adjuvant vaccines. HOPE is an all volunteer non-profit 501c3 dedicated to saving the lives of homeless and abandoned dogs and cats from high kill shelters on their last day. Please mail donations to: HOPE - P.O. Box 2005, Upland CA 91785. | Meet Jack -- Available for Adoption Our Jack is just so cool. He's a happy dog who is full of energy and who wants to please. He's neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and ready to go the the right home. He needs a home with someone who is very active as his breed wants a task to perform. He very busy and he's agile to boot! He jumps fences with ease so he needs a secure yard when he's allowed alone outdoors. He would love to be enrolled in agility learning how to navigate the course. We are in search of the right home for him so please understand our process. Jack was found in the Utah desert and he was emaciated and covered in burrs. A kind and Good Samaritan rescued him so we feel very responsible in finding him the best home so he will never be lost again! | Meet Miss Luna -- Available for Adoption Luna was rescued from a high kill shelter in Los Angeles. She was on "the list." But HOPE was there to make sure she would see the sunshine through the windows for many more days and have a chance at a good home. Being an orange tabby female makes her extra special. Orange tabbies are usually males so she is indeed one special girl. She's currently in a foster home and her foster tells us she is a great cat. | Just Adopted! Our Chocolate Cocker Spaniel, Peanut Butter, now Rooty Bear, went to his forever home recently. After being relinquished by his owner after he was hit by a car, he was fostered and cared for by an amazing RVT who was kind enough to care for him. After he had a successful FHO surgery (Femoral Head Osteotomy) and recovered enough to be transferred, he went to his foster-to-adopt home to continue his recuperation from the surgery. While there, HOPE also provided five sessions of physical therapy to help the leg become more flexible, less painful and able extend to its normal range. He is one happy dog having survived it all and fortunate enough to become a HOPE dog! Many thanks to his first foster Mom who saved him from being put to sleep and cared for him for so many months during his surgery, and best wishes to his forever family that made the commitment to adopt him and who love him so much!! | Just Adopted! Beautiful Guasti, along with her sisters were recently adopted. They waited a long time before they found their forever home but now they're happy and settled in and living the good life. Guasti, along with her sisters Baileigh and Joanes, were born inside a car dealership. Their beautiful Mom, Mercedes, still awaits the perfect home. | Meet Timmy -- Available for Adoption This is our big and beautiful boy, Timmy. He's an absolute lovebug! If you're looking for a loveable big boy, look no more. Timmy is your boy. He's neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. He is currently in a foster home and his foster mom can't say enough good things about him! Orange tabbies are great cats with wonderful personalities and Timmy fits that description perfectly! | Adoption Pending Sweet Darla Jean is cuteness on overload! She is so loveable and affectionate that she would make anyone looking to add a cute feline into their family the absolute best choice! When you meet her she is ready to show you how loveable she is when she climbs into your lap to introduce herself. She did just that to the potential adopter and that's all it took. She's such a friendly little girl so we're happy she will soon be living a good life in her forever home! | Please visit our website at HelpingOutPetsEveryday.com for more information, and join us on social media for updated announcements, pet photos & fun! | In Memory Of Duke Tossed over a wall at an industrial complex many years ago as a puppy, Duke was rescued by HOPE and placed in his forever home. Duke's family had an honorable undertaking for him and after he completed his "boot camp" training he was certified as a "Therapy Dog." Duke became a hero dog who visited veteran's hospitals and helped to brighten the day of every servicemember he met along the way. His grieving family contacted HOPE to let us know of his passing. We offer our heartfelt condolences. Rest in peace, dear Duke. You are loved forever! | | |
