PROGRAM GOAL: The overarching goal of the program is to prepare high-performing aspiring federal executives to successfully navigate the Senior Executive Service (SES) hiring process. The program activities have been designed to afford impactful developmental experiences aligned with the Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM’s) Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) and underlying competencies.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
* Current permanent Federal employee,
* Current member of AAFEA, and
* Supervisory grade 15 or equivalent who has at least one year of supervisory experience OR supervisory grade 14 or equivalent who has at least three years of supervisory experience.
All applicants must timely complete the online application and upload:

▪ Your most recent SF 50
▪ A performance appraisal dated within the last 12 months.
▪ Letters of Recommendation (three letters for grade 14 and equivalents and two letters for grade 15 and equivalents submitted directly to the AAFEA Chancellor)

Applicants may be required to participate in a one-on-one interview with the AAFEA Chancellor and Vice Chancellor and/or a panel interview with members of the AAFEA Board of Directors.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
The AAFEA Fellows Program requires focus, commitment, and dedication, as the design is comprehensive and rigorous. Program activities are generally scheduled during non-duty hours. Fellows should expect to spend between 8 and 12 hours each month on program activities (including the 3-hour mandatory monthly cohort session). The cohort format of the program adds to its richness by creating shared experiences with fellow federal government leaders that will last beyond the Program. Additional program elements include:
▪ Formal orientation and program kick-off on Sunday, September 15, 2009, from 2 to 6 p.m.
▪ Regular one-on-one mentoring sessions with a current or former career member of the SES
▪ A Birkman Insights report
▪ Pre- and post-program competency assessment aligned to the OPM Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) supporting competencies
▪ Monthly educational programming delivered by current and former federal executives (scheduled the first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon Eastern beginning October 5, 2019) – Program Overview
▪ Individual and panel mock interviews
▪ Design, implementation, and evaluation of a capstone project aligned with the AAFEA Strategic Priorities
▪ Graduation celebration

PROGRAM FEE
The Fellows Program fee is $500 and is payable by check, credit card, money order or SF 182.
