Friday - December 2nd Christmas in the Village Community Choir

The first-ever Amherst Community Chamber Choir presented "Christmas in the Village" to a sold out crowd of about 170. The Choir was made up of approximately 60 volunteers led by Janet Glodowski.
Here is a link to a short video from the performance:

Community Choir
Variety Productions (Janet Glodowski) produced the show and handled the entire evening from decorations,
performers, chili feed, bake sale, bartenders, viewing of the TRBA sponsored Christmas Parade and raffle baskets. The evening resulted in a $3,500.00 donation to the Amherst Opera House/Community Hall to help continue the restoration of our 120 year old treasure.

It was especially gratifying to see the building filled to capacity with joyful people once again. The AOHCG, Inc. Board of Directors would like to thank Janet and all who helped make this such a unique and wonderful night.

MATCHING FUNDRAISER

For the months of December 2022 and January 2023 we have a fundraising opportunity provided to us by Jerry Guyant. Jerry has been a supporter of our efforts to restore the Amherst Opera House/Community Hall as well as numerous other projects that have greatly benefited the Village of Amherst and area residents.
Until January 31, 2023 all donations received will be matched by 50%. So for every $2 raised (up to $20,000.00), Jerry will match $1. For the month of December we have raised $10,509.44 so Jerry will match $5,254.72. These funds are earmarked for plaster repair, installation of attic insulation, and ceiling fans in the auditorium which will help our newly installed furnaces be more efficient, thus giving us the opportunity to extend our season.
Donations can be mailed to:

Plans now are for a return by Bruce & Julie of Patchouli to provide the music. More Amherst Alive events. We are discussing ideas for a costume ball, fashion show, silent movies, ballroom dancing, square dancing, a polka band. We will also continue to be involved in the TRBA sponsored events like SwapORama, Wine Walk, Celebrate Amherst, and the Christmas events. If you have some fun ideas please share.

Major Capital Improvement Project Underway

We are in the beginning stages of a project that will replace all of the 85 year old basement windows as well as the exterior entrance doors on the South and West sides of our building. We are working with Brown Construction of Amherst to complete this project. The estimated cost is approximately $40,000.00 and a generous local couple is providing $30,000.00 of that amount. We need to raise the remaining $10,000.00 to complete the project. As a 501(c)3 non profit corporation we can offer a tax deductible receipt for donations. Please consider helping us as we continue to renovate the Amherst Opera House/Community Hall.
