Grand Challenges in Parkinson's Disease

Aug 21–22, 2019 | Grand Rapids, MI, USA

Now in its 8th year, Grand Challenges in Parkinson’s Disease is an annual scientific symposium that brings together scientists, clinicians, advocates and people with Parkinson’s to explore the latest innovative PD research. The theme for 2019 is "Understanding Genetic Risk", which will focus on the genetic components that contribute to disease onset and progression, with an eye toward advances that may lead to new predictive measures and disease-modifying therapies. To obtain more details and register your place, visit the event website.

JPD information will be available to delegates at Grand Challenges 2019: we encourage delegates to consider submitting research to the journal and joining our quarterly webinars.

Collection of Quarterly Parkinson's Webinars

Next Webinar: October 2, 2019!

The next instalment of our quarterly Parkinson’s webinar series, organized in partnership with the Cure Parkinson's Trust and Parkinson’s Movement, will now take place on October 2, 2019. The topic is yet to be confirmed, but you can already register to join the webinar here. It is free to attend, and spaces are limited.

Recordings of all previous webinars can be accessed here. The theme of the most recent webinar (in June) was Stem Cell Research (Cell Replacement) in Parkinson's. Led by Professor Patrick Brundin, fellow panelists included Roger Barker (University of Cambridge, UK) and Claire Henchcliffe (Weill Cornell Medical College, USA), and the discussion focused on the field of dopamine replacement cell therapy for Parkinson's. The recording of the online webinar is now available.
